Post pics of front bumpers YOU have made

Some basic ones I built for a Ford.

No winch plans when i was asked to build these, but I left room anyway, just in case.
Again had to do a rear after the front was inspected.

Another basic front on a dually.

This one had no plans immediately for a winch, but we left room for when he changes his mind.

Bobbed Sub Front bumper.

This started out as a center section sort of like the DIY units but not as nice as theirs, and no front spring mounts.

Big Machine!

The biggest blazer I have ever worked on!:eek1:
This one was eventually getting a winch in the rear, and the owner wanted both to look similar.

Full size Wagoneer 1 off front and rear.

This thing was cool to work on!
Amazing condition for a Canadian truck.
Guy had to have bumpers that no one else had.

My only 15min. of fame until Mr October in the CK5 Callendar!!!:bow::bow:

There are some more but I think you get the idea.

I wish I had your fab skills. I'm going to have to resort to ordering from Buckstop to get the bumpers I want.

Fab Skills...?

Thanks for the complement!

They really are not as difficult as you may think...
It helps a bunch when you have the equipment at your disposal that i do.

Honestly you could take a DIY center (they are the coolest thing I have seen in a long time!!) and put some custom outers on it for an awesome bumper.:dunno:

Awesome work John. Since I have the diy4x center, I might add some steel on the sides. I've been thinking about it, need to build a rear first though.

Love your work!

Hi Jeff
I know those centers would make a great full bumper.....
Outer formed pieces---no problem!
Thinking about getting one myself.
No point reinventing the wheel, right.!?

Nice mine is away from my eyes right now otherwise show here.

My biggest issue in finding a bumper is finding one with a thick "pushbar". I'm not sure how well a DIY4X center would take to adding uprights much less my knowledge of how to do it. I would LOVE to learn though, just not sure if I can afford possibly trashing a center or all that metal lol

Here's the one that Buckstop makes for the K series. It looks much better in black.I was going to ditch the round lights and add some expanded steel behind the "guard".

Here is the front & matching rear I built. Both are 3/8 plate for the winch mounts with 1/4" for gussetts. Main tubes are 2" .250 wall & the supporting tube is 1.75" .120 wall. I have since sold them to a member on this board but can't remember his screen name. If you bought them post up or email me some pics so I can see thier new home.

That's a good looking bumper choice!
Do you mind if I ask what they charge for one of those?

Out of curiousity - what would you say the average price of building a bumper yourself? Been thinking about either getting an ORD one or learning to weld / building one myself.

It's a little over $2000 after shipping. It's 1/4" steel or 3/8" aluminum depending on what you want. The brush guard is removable too for when you need to work on the front end. If Kurt can build me something just as strong with the same features, I would buy it from him rather than Buckstop just to keep it in the family. My biggest issue is strength and winch space.
