Badmix and Dremu, those are basically the style he said he wants, anyway i can get some measurements from you guys? how thick are your bumpers? top-bottom and how far do they angle out? i mean looking at it from the top.

Uhh, mine are 2x8 tube, I think .187 wall... I fiddled with the width, but I seem to recall about 6' wide. The bending on the front ... well, was done so that it looked right on the first side I bent, then the other was done to the same bend :haha:

Search for my thread on them, more info in there, and 4x4High has some dimensions of his in his thread (in the Lounge, oddly.)

Ill try and get some tomorrow. I know I was suppose to get some for someone else some time ago. oops. WHen I looked the bumper once b4, there are alot of bends and curves to it. So, ill have to try and get some basic ones. but I figure you can guesstamate by the pics, and the width and heights, but ill see what I can do.

that's a bad ass bumper. If you can take any kind of measurements or more pictures of it front and rear i would appreciate that.

That would be me. Would still like some basic dimensions IE: tube height in the center, and also the height at the ends of the bumper. I basically want to find out how much the bumper tapers at the ends.

Ok.. Ill get that done today and post in this thread.

Ill still do it, but the post above yours has about the same bends and cuts as mine.

I love the look of the bumper badmix. X2 on the messuments. Also Whats the bumper made out of? cause i wouldnt even have a clue on were to start building something like that.

I have a 2" reciver on the front that my winch cradle sets in. it is made from 3"x5" 1/4" steel. its welded & bolted to the frame. U can't see it to well but on the top i cut alum diamond plate to fill the gap.

Ok.

The bumper is made out of 1/4 steel. I didnt build the bumper, it was built by a company that I dont want to mention due to their poor customer service and other issues.

ANyways, here are some generic measurements, due to the way its designed it has 3 measurements to it.

Length. from outside to center is 26" , center section is 28" and from center to outside is 26"

Height. The ends are 7" tall, the middle section is 10" tall (so you can see the gradual taper from center to the ends

Depth. Center is 8" to grill and 12" total back to mounting plates. The tapered ends are 3.5" wide. So you can see the depth section tapers as well.

IF you look at K30bb468, his design is almost exactly like mine, only I have the upper brush bars, but you can see the angles he has, even the extended mounting plates are just like mine. So, if you take his design and my measurements (or he can get his) you would have essentially the same bumper. You can even see the bend in the bottom section of the bumper, I have that as well. LIke I said, alot of bends and angles

There are ALOT of angles to my bumper, it wasnt welded and put together, alot of it was bent on a press of some sort and it had to have been a massive one too.

I'm assuming the 10" tall on the center piece is going from the top to the bottom of the piece that angles under the winch area. Can you give me the height of the flat portion of the center piece where the hawse fairlead is mounted.

On mine, there is only 2" difference. THe flat portion is 8" and the bottom angled part is 2".

He actually has one more bend at the bottom than I do. the bottom of his goes BACK towards the truck with that extra bend. Mine just has one bend off the flat part and just goes down 2" at an angle.

Here's mine. If I were to do it again, I would tie the top tube to the corners below the turn signals rather than wrapping it around the sides.

Specs:
1/4" plate for the winch mount
Tow hooks also bolted to the side brackets with grade 8 bolts
1/4" plate below the winch mount using grade 8 allen head bolts - two tacked to prevent the 5 finger discount
1.75" x 0.120 HREW tubing
