I could tell that. But I also realize in a part of the discussion was keeping the door open for the kids to be able to drive it too. If it was purely RC car based with something like a big speed controller like a Mamba Monster Max or knock-off Chinese 1/8th scale setup that would be hard to do.

I'm not knocking it by any means. But I realized I answered my own question in that going only off of Hobby level RC equipment it would only satisfy your ability to drive it for them.
 
There is a switch on the dash that switches from RC to manual drive. I wanted to be in control of this because I don’t want them flying off the wall at the bottom of the yard.

They also have a slow golf cart that they drive around in the lower area. It’s manual only so they can practice driving it and develops those skills.
 

Long overdue but I finally got this working although one of the motors is spinning slower than the other. Need to figure that out but at least everything is switching and going. Had to buy a different relay board but it was only $6 for 2 of them which worked out so I can have each motor on a relay board to spread the load out.

Try swapping the motors to the other relays and see if the slowness follows. I’ll look at your diagram later.
 
It’s not pretty haha. I got told no more testing tonight so I’ll deal with that tomorrow.
 
I’ve seen worse schematics. For future reference, when you have a junction of two or more wires it’s good practice to put a dot there to show that the wires are joined. It looks you’re diagram is correct though. One other thing, you can measure the resistance of the motors to see how many ohms they have. I’m guessing they should be within a few tenths if an ohm. But the strength of the magnets in them can vary which would cause one to spin faster.
 
That's what happens after a long day at work and getting kids to bed. And whiskey. Can't forget the whiskey.

Speaking of wire junctions, I was thinking about mounting a couple of bus bars and running everything from there. Figure it would make for a cleaner install and easier troubleshooting down the line. Still gotta buy a plug in charger for it also and troubleshoot my on//off switch.

My plan today is hook both motors directly to the battery one at a time and see if the problem persists. If it doesn't I'll dig deeper. If it does I'll replace that motor.
 
Bad motor. Connected straight to the battery it’s got the same problem. Checked the ohms and it starts at 1.2 and the longer you hold it the higher it goes. The good one sits at .9. One thing I just noticed is the good motor is stamped with the ratings but the bad motor is not. Whatever. $15 and the new one will be here on the 18th.

Nearly done. Actually started testing the circuit and couldn’t get anything to fire. Realized I made all of my terminations and forgot the battery +//- connections to the relay boards. Doh!!! So I cut the terminations and called it a day. I’ll get it running tomorrow.

New motor arrived and spins at the same speed as the other?
 
mine has been running great.

But after a few close calls and a roll. I had to make a wheelie bar.
 
Nice. I don't think I'll have that big of an issue. Each tire just has a 1" wide strip of rubber down the middle so it shouldn't grab that much traction. Hopefully I'll find out today!!
 
Good news. Truck is back together and driving.

Bad news. It shuts off after about two seconds with a load applied and I realized I bought 10a relays instead of 30a. So the third set of relay boards will be here Friday.

I don't know about brands, but my kids love anything on wheels.
Some day I need to lign everything up for a group photo.
My kids have it worse than me :pimp:
