Preparing for manual trans swap.

When I did the swap I bought clutch, MC, SC, hose, fork, throwout brg, pivot ball all new on rockauto. I think it was all LUK except for the pivot ball. My reasoning was if it was all one manufacturer I would have the best chance of everything lining up properly. It did.

Good idea. The throwout bearing must match the pivot arm and the pressure plate, or the linkage won't have the right range. I reused old parts on my NV4500 and wound up with a mismatch. Wound up adding 1/2" to the length of my slave cylinder pushrod (the pedal was only going 1/2-way down and then the slave would run out of travel).

I checked rockauto after your post yesterday. I had to go to the 1989 model to find the listing for the hydro parts.

make sure you use blazer or suburban for the 1989 year then .

i just clicked 1985 / k30 / 5.7 and did transmission man and found all the hydro stuff listed . :dunno:

This. C/K 10 and 20 squarebody trucks were discontinued after 1987. The GMT400 trucks use different parts. The bore/stroke of the M/C is still compatible, and @Russell wound up modifying GMT400 parts to fit a squarebody. But why bother modifying when '86-'91 squarebody stuff bolts right on?

I checked 85 and 86 suburban k10 and k20. Showed up in the 1987 section, so I'll go with that I think.

Yeah. That's a lot for a 465.

O.K., NV4500 is now sitting in the garage. Shifts as slick as snot. Next phase, get a cam & springs for the crate engine, go through it as it's been sitting since 05. If my o.t. holds up I'm thinking about a 0411 and harness to make my Edelbrock efi kit work. I've had it since 05 also. It was for my ex's truck. Performer efi 3505. Long obsolete lol.

Once I have all my pieces, I'll get the garage set up and commence the surgery.
