Project 82 TCBF -10.13.9 - progress!!!

I will for sure, does that flip have provisions for longer springs? I'm not after maxx articulation, but rather a ride that doesnt have me peeing blood out after 100 miles a day on Michigan roads! I was thinking 52's in the front and 60's in the rear (springs). Anyway, i don't wanna hijack, good work and I'm probably as eager as you are to see the payoff!

Since my truck was frozen this morning, and the only other car I could use wouldn`t make it out of the driveway:rolleyes: (big snow bank, actually ice bank) and I was already running late, I decided to play hooky...

So, as I stated before, I wanted to get a head start in the installation of the shackle flip. So, today I installed the bushings/sleeves into the flip....

I`ll have to say, this was way easier than I expected. With the bushings sitting in the freezer for about 6 days :D , it allowed for me to slide everything in, with out ease, by hand.:eek1: So ,I took them out, went into the basement, laid every thing out:

greased up the bushings:

Then they slid in the 2 halves on both flips, and pushed in the sleeves...

Finished product:

BigBlaze433,

I am right there with ya. I have the TC springs put on and waiting for the weekend so I can try to get my flip(ORD) on.

I think you are right on with wanting to stay 1/2 ton, as said preiviously, it is your rig and you need to do what you see fit.

Can't wait to see the results.:wink1:

When are you going to build something? It took you 32 pages and 300 someodd posts to pound the rotors off your hubs, and put bushings in. Who wants to sift through 32 pages of crap to find 10 pics? You wanna see how it's done? Check this out....http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=158196&highlight=build+thread It only took 6 pages to get all that done. Now thats inspiration.

Hey Kevin,

Take it easy on Ben. He's a high school student who is working his way to his dream truck. His time is divided between family, school and work. Not to mention, his living in Massachusettes, the weather hasn't been cooperating. He is working as diligently as possible and will be wrenching for a week solid coming up soon.

Part of the problem is that Ben also listens to everyone who tries to help him and he's been hit with so many angles towards his project that it took some time for him to sort things out. He is a relatively new comer to wheelin' and wants to do it right. His post is a good example of new kids asking questions to get it right. Humbly, show a little patience and compassion. You were there once too!

What's ur point? Is it a race? I've had my truck for 12 years and havent done alot with it. Not everybody can, or want's to, whip out their water-cooled credit card to build something out of a cataloge in 6 day's. For most it's a work in progress, but hey, u won the fast build race, maybe you should apply for your own tv show like overhaulin.

X2!

I'm stuck in cold weather too here in freezing Ohio and if I had build thread it would probably be fart jokes and YouTube links during this time of year just to pass the time...:D

Alright, Kevin, not everyone can build a truck in 2 weeks. Take a look at mannys build, there`s at least 10 pages of just people commenting him, is that not inspiration?

It takes others, like my self for instance, a little longer to do things....and the fact that I started this build thread before the fact I really started, was to give me inspiration...

Thanks for contributing.....

That's funny. That thread has been going on for a year now. And still no wheeling pics. Doesn't seem like inspiration to me. I know I don't want my truck stuck in the garage that long

since when has ck5 turned into pirate4x4  stop being anal and let BigBlazer post what he wants on HIS build up thread. if you think his build up is taking forever, then check mine out...you'll be collecting social security by the time you finish, just make sure that if you're going to post some stupid comment like above on mine, i'm going to be pretty  . if you think it's a lot of crap, then go pick up a coloring book, plenty of pics there. BigBlaze keep the updates coming, you got my support. :D but then again, what is the 4x4 world coming to when the most hardcore rockcrawling site starts getting soft :(
