Project 82 TCBF -10.13.9 - progress!!!

How about you buy my stepside bed and shorten it to fit the blazer chassis. The difference is pretty much just cutting out the steps. Should be real easy to do.

Mud flaps would be big enough for me not too pull you over, like the step side idea.
I do too, just can't swing it $$ wise, even moreso because I'm going to FL in two weeks.

Make/modify some short bed for it. A truck without it's body panels, whether modified/cut back/twisted, just loses something. Like it's not really a truck anymore. It may be a bit of work to get a proper bed on it but the end result will be worth it. Till it rubs a tree and then it'll just have more character.

For a while I had this idea floating around of making a flat bed type thing, with removable bed sides...I can picture it, just can't do it :haha::crazy:

I may end up picking up a short bed and modding it to mount to the blazer frame, we'll see what happens. If I didn't think it would take me (myself) forever to do and end up butchered, I'd have done it all ready. But, that's what friends are for, to help me do what I can't! ;)

as I just posted on NEK5, please please please take those off. I were driving behind your truck with those mud flaps only one thing comes to mind...

Goddamn... there isn't enough alcohol in the US.... what a waste of a pretty face

305chevy: I'm still trying to figure out how those flaps remind you of that pic?:dunno:

just like how the ass is two big hams, the oversized mud flaps reminded me of a fat chick bending over. :doah:

cam was installed right, but my buddy thinks the timing set MAY have been a bit off, he can't remember though...It doesn't really run that bad....still pops on deceleration if you get on it good...I need to tighten up my header bolts to get rid of the exhaust leaks, get my dash in and gauges hooked up, and give it a shot again. The dizzy is a brand new unit from DUI performace. It's in right (pointed to 1 at 0 on the balancer (using the spark plug hole blow method) There was definitely a problem with the other carb, needed to be rebuilt for sure. I did the valves right, because it took me forever to figure it out. I just got to adjust the choke and stuff on this one. ryoken (paul) told me to check the total timing...haven't done that yet. When we were doing the timing, we got it to 11* BTDC, but we could only get it down to 850-900 before it would die out (may not have been warmed up enough?) anymore ideas?

on a different note, I started on my dash today. Just got it all stripped down, now I got to make the cuts (after I find out where the fock my jig saw is) unbolt it, and pull the old dash out. I figure I may as well clean up some wiring while it's all open, as well as replace the seals for the air vents (which I think are leaking). I think I'll get up bright and early tomorrow ;D and I also have the holiday off!

Take lots of pics you seam to be slackin on those. You have to use the camera to get them unless you have a USB port into your brain.

Lookin good Ben keep up the good work and youll soon have the truck you never knew you wanted.

Oh and I vote keep the flat bed modify it to suit your needs.

Of course I had to go and throw a wrench into the middle of a project that was nearing completion :p::p::p::p::p::p:
How could I pass it up? Especially when this thing showed up on my door step!

And with the long weekend I had, I was finally able to make some progress!

and a few small cuts later, unbolted it from the sides, and out comes the factory metal

077.jpg

the vins still there  as well as the factory holes for the defrost duct mounts

some other things that were done

new mirrors! had to unbolt the bottom bracket on both sides to drill out the broken studs

132.jpg

had to cut the openings in the headlight buckets so they would seat right, and replace both broken retaining rings

088.jpg

i also hope i tracked down my water leak in the cab...i had ordered new seals in hopes of that it was this, and after pulling them, it HAD to be these..look at the seal on this one!

085.jpg

stripped those down and replaced both seals and i'm golden!

thats all for now folks!

I need to now decide where to put all my switches....any suggestions?
