Project "Blazer". Won 3rd place, this thread is done!

ahh haha actually i wasnt thinkin but my buddies call my hawgs turbines. yeah pics of the tires lmao. back in the day i had a set of those wheels but i cracked one and the space between the ribs were painted to match the truck, i didnt paint it though, they look good.

The axels are a huge deal. So what they are, were they are, and the price will only be posted when and if I or Chas gets them. Sorry about that.

Still no pics of tires being cut, ahhh i want to start on my two back ones and am still debating on how ur cuttin em, i have two 40s already cut like tractor tires but they chunk real bad so im curious to see if there is a diff method.:D

I will take some tomorrow. Hawgs have the ability to be cut like Iroks. But I took what I learned from grooving my gumbos, combined with what people are doing with boggers and came up with a pattern that adds a lot of edges and doesn't sacrifice side hilling or forward traction.

haha im very interested now, i also have two gumbos grooved but there isnt much left, whoever did it wanted a cheap set of paddles lol. also they were cut at a slant so when you launch they pull u like to the right in the mud so your drivin right all the time and then just straightn your wheels and punch it and you can make a 90 deg turn if you have a twin stick 205 just runnin the front, i dont run em much anymore cuz of this though.

it rained pretty good at some times today.. i wonder if he still went...
No, no horsebarn. I'll be back soon. I have some stuff to deal with. And I haven't seem progress of thr RK in my head, so it was best I stepped away for a bit.

OK, I'm back. I started to take apart the front axels today. I might put the d44 in and just put all the 8lug 10b stuff on it. Not 100% yet though. But they are both 3.73 gears. It's good in one way, stinks in another. Then Chas called me, got a fire lit under my a$$. So I put the turbines on just to get me motivated. Then I pulled the driver side of the 14b off. The brake was froze up. I'm going to run disc. Yesterday I put the lift gate on the flatbed, now it will be easier to pick up parts. I'm still kicking around different axels.

finally got the liftgate on huh??

Those turbines look cool. Post a picture of your tires from the same angle and I'll digitally "mount" them for you. :D

Chas still has them, or they would be mounted. No hurry though, I'm starting to think creative again. :wink1: Starting to think overkill again!:D

Nice build up so far. keep up the good work, Im interested in seeing how the front suspension performs with the shackle in the stock location.

Summer time, and the livin's easy. Well I got the rear drive shaft in, with new u-joints. Removed all the rear drum hardware, to get ready for discs. And but a dist. cap on with new wires. I borrowed a socket to take off the front hubs, but it was the wrong one, so I have to get the right one tomorrow.

got any pics of the turbines being grooved??

The tires are done. I am still searching for the proper blades to groove the turbines.:D

I used a #12 blade for the outermost cuts and a #8 for all the others. the #12 is 3/4" wide and the #8 is 1/2" wide. the #8 fit perfectly in the stock treads of the tire. The bucket is 3 gallons and it's full.

The tires are definitely going to flex and conform to terrain better. before I grooved them they were crowned with out any air in them. now they are curved in. There is a ton more biting edges also. each groove is about 2" long and there are something like 180 grooves per tire. :eek1: You read that correctly. thats 300+ inches of biting edges added.:D

I'm working with what I have to keep this project cheap. I need it to be more beater than prefect wheeler.

Well I din't get to do anything to Road Kill Today. But there is something I need to do for this project.

I have to thank Chas (gmc4cw) for all the help. If you read this thread, or some others you would have seen what kind of guy Chas is. He heled me out more than I could ever say. Even calls my A$$ up if I don't post for alittle. I've seen him help others too!

So Thanks Chas! You are the man. And thanks to everyone else on this site that helped my a$$ out. You know who you all are.

There that feels better than swapping a motor. I haven't been here too long, but long enough to meet some cool people.

I'll be back on Road Kill, balls out next week. I'm going to try to relax this weekend, then make up some lost time.
