Well nothin is getting done this weekend it looks like.:o I have alot of other stuff to do. Monday the front will be dropped out, and I hope done by tuesday. Wednesday I have to do the horse barn, so that only leaves Thursday. Since Friday I leave for the R&R Hall of Fame. Finding the parts I want for steering is still a problem, I'll have to try and figure out something else.:doah:

Hey you should swing down to Massillon next weekend or something and see my Blazer while you're here in Ohio. I'm off on Saturday and Sunday...you driving SkyyK5?

Today I ripped out the front axel, front bumper, rear bumper mounts, and put together the springs for the front. I measured out the truck so I can get the front close to the same height as the rear. When compared to the Skyyk5 (4"front, 5"rear), the Road Kill has 3 1/4" more lift.

Now the last two picks have to do with the front shackels. I could either use stock rear 4" and made under the frame mounts. Or use the stock mounts and Made a 7" shackle in the shape of a V, so it does not hit the body mount or frame. What does everyone think?

you have some grinding to do. the front hanger needs to be moved to the front of the body mount. then you need to grind out the rivets holding the rear hanger and move it forward. use the front upper mounting hole to line it up in the new position.

read this. http://coloradok5.com/52inchspringswap.shtml

the hanger needs to look like this in the front.

No grinding, I have torches! I'll check it out in the light tomorrow.

hold on do you mean 7 1/4 more lift than 4..what tires you runnin...what is that like 11 1/4 inches of lift???
71/4" in all. When compared to the Skyyk5 (axel to frame) it is 3 1/4" difference. I'll be running the tires up in this thread. The skyyk5 has 5" rear, 4" front. I want the Road Kill level with the top on.

When I put the springs back together, I cleaned them all up, then sprayed 5th wheel grease between the leafs. It works great, you can push down on the K5 and made the springs move with little effort.

i wouldnt torch stuff on the frame. it weakens the area that you are torching and a weak frame is not good especially there where a lot of weight will be supported.

I don't know who is all going with me yet. I think I'll be taking the Grande'. We also have to get back , since it is mothers day on sunday. I have your cell still, I'll give you a call If I'm free.

I got the front spring mounts moved foward, measured to make the new shackles, installed the dust sheild, and lined up the front axel under the springs. I hope to have the front done by Thursday. Tomorrow I will make the shackles at work, but I have to work on the horse barn after work.

No big deal, I should be around all weekend landscaping around my house. If you have extra time call me and you can drop by and see the Blazer. If not we'll hang some other time. If I don't see you, have fun up there...

:pimp:

Rain, rain, go away! But I still had to get stuff done. The new front shackles are on, The axel is bolted up, And I measured for the driveshafts to be cut down. But if tomorrow is anything like today was, I don't think I'll have time to cut them down at work. I don't know why I put those marker lights in, it looks like that whole area will be cut out!:eek1: I'm diggin the looks of it, can't wait till the tires go on.:D

There is smaller/ flat tires on the pass. side. And the pass side is also downhill were it is.
