While I was getting my Stadadyne additive at the shop today, I talked one of the techs into checking over the ol' six two.. He said it sounded just fine to him, couldnt identify any problems! :woot:

So did ya break down and go with 15's on the rims you had, or did you get some inexpensive 16" rims like you wanted?

Nice one mate, I was hopin that you were just being fussy, at certain rpm mine sound like they are missing and if ya go listen to one of the ex pipes you would swear it had a slight miss, but runs like a champ - if it aint broke - leave it the fu(k alone good karma will be on the way too man for your accident help, take it easy man
 
I had to borrow money from family to get the tires, they were that bad.

Now, I put the CHEAPEST 31X15 on there money could buy, Primewell PA100, and so far, Im pretty impressed for $100 a tire!

I couldnt afford to do rims and tires, and the combo was not a justifiable expense at this time so I do hope to get 16 rims, and the same tire maybe in 285X16!! They should look SWEET!

Even by the time you need tires again there will still be 15's available. Just do the rim upsize/upgrade then. 16.5"s are more likely to be extinct in the very near future, it'll take longer to happen with 15's.

I can get new Superlift front springs in 4" flavor with new bushings for $300 locally. Im just going to go with the local Joe and install them with the help of the new mechanic I found!

However, Ive first got to figure out how to come up with the money!

The previous owner, of the previous owner of my vehicle... has a raised steering arm for the truck, bought it... now doesnt need it... will sell it to me for $30... Im supposed to meet with him tomorrow after he gets off work to get it.

Now watch the old arm not come off. :doah:

Im going though some video editor changes, so video will be posted as soon as possible.

Steering arm:

You need a very BFH, last one I did I used a 5 lb mini sledge and a 13 lb full sized one. loosen the nuts, and soak the stud areas with PB blaster or equivalent. You want to leave the nuts on the tops of the studs to keep from messing up the ends of the studs if you accidentally hit one with the hammer.

Hit the arm from side to side, and downwards. Do not hit upwards or you will seat the cone washers even harder. When you see the cone washers start to pop up a little use a sharp small screwdriver and a small hammer to spin them out.

Last one took me under 15 minutes.

My truck has a 4 inch lift on it, and bad driveline vibrations. So I build a drop bracket kit and 99.98% eliminate the vibrations! :thumb:


Last major things to do:
-Raised steering arm (I hope to pick it up today)
-New springs to eliminate front blox (who the hell!)
-XJ shaft swap (Sitting under my driver's seat as I type)

Yup, its CrAzY! There was so much wrong with it... I really cant believe it! Its been extremely rewarding to do the work that Ive done so far. With so much left to do but yet so much accomplished... I cant stop just yet!

For YEARS I wanted a Diesel Blazer, and since they are damn near extinct I just HAD to have this one. Glad I got her, and damn glad I was able to do the work on her that I did, I could never be able to afford to have the work done.

As in my videos, I thank Stacey David for giving me lessons in metal work and everything else he did on his show "Trucks!", and the time we spent together in my home had given me the confidence to tackle this project! Thanks millions Stacey!

I know I need a new drive shaft, the stock one is way too short, which could be accounting for some of the vibration... Also with it never having a drop on it, I am guessing the U-Joints are wore to hell from being shook to death.

I can live with what I have for now, the steering and suspension are next priorities, I should have the steering arm today, I hope.

I got my raised steering arm today, guy bought it for his truck then bought a lift that came with one, so he sold me his extra for $30. Already been by the mechanic (Frank), Ill be at his shop tomorrow at 10am and we will work on getting it on.

I hope to have my intermediate shaft swap done this week, just looking right now.. The top of the shaft looks easy. The bottom has some weird arse bolt head.

Can someone tell me what tool to use to get this bastage out please?

I wana see a video of Frank changin the steering arm, no "Beeeeebs" for bad language used either hahahaha, great stuff mate, I'm sure there are plenty of people on this site that sorta squirm watching the vids, cos not much is happening with their projects :doah: and the old guilt starts too play with ya hahaha, take it easy man

You shopuld be able to use a multi hex socket on it Andrew, a 12 point you guys might call it, nothing really unusual about it, just not commonly used as its a bit easier to round the hex off it, make sure you use a good condition socket or get a new one or use Frankies lol
