Project Frostbite 1 ton K5 build

Started getting the air compressor all cleaned up and a start to my intake and exhaust setup on it. Picked up some steel bungs from vibrant in 1/2 NPT to weld on the flanges. Ended up being able to modify the original plates enough to be able to weld the bungs on. Took the oil pan off to inspect it a little and reseal it since it looks like it has had a slow leak over the years. Crazy how big the pistons are in these little compressors! :D

Also picked up a couple catch cans so I can get my breather setup on the engine ran through this so all that oil doesn't make its way through the intake! :pimp: Going to use one of them for the line that goes out of the power steering reservoir just in case oil ever comes out cause I hate having oil go all over the engine bay!! :surepal:

There’s some calendar worthy shots in there, enjoyed your build on pirate glad to see it’s over here!

I definitely need to get in on that calendar action! Thank you! Its taking some time to get everything up to date on here but well worth it since pirate is almost dead lol.

Finally got the stubbie bumper all finished up. I had my warn zeon 10s i kept off my jeep that I tossed on there. Should work good for now tell I finish out the sides. The 40s still rub a lot so I did some more trimming.:dunno: Hoping to get the areas I cut away all boxed in this next weekend. Mounted up my air tank and all the fittings/filters I'm using. Just need to run the line to the tank and wires to the pressure switch.

The new aluminum radiator and fans ended up being a fail. :surepal: So I put the old 4 core radiator back in with the new fan shroud and fans and it helped it out a little but not much. I ended up ordering a couple Mishmoto fans to try out and see if they really do as good as people say. Dang things are spendy though!! :surepal: I've been able to make a couple trips up snow wheeling with the new radiator/fan setup and wow I'm amazed how well the Mishmotos do! :D I truly didn't think they would help that much but they pull so much air through the thing never over heats now no matter how hard I hammer on it. Would highly recommend the mishmotos to other people wanting to go the electric route but need more CFM. They do draw a decent amount of power also. Got my fittings on the air compressor all done and started running my air line and wires to the pressure switch. Getting excited to try out the RV2 for airing up the 40s. Haven't really been working on it much since we are finally getting snow I've been going out every chance I get. :pimp:

Haven't tried the mishimotos but have heard good about them. Have tried spal and they worked well too. Not sure on price difference.

Exhaust sounds good too!

They have worked very well. I'll have to check the spal fans out. Thank you! I'm happy with how the sound turned out. :D

My buddy in WA used to have a 4runner built for snow wheeling and would always post videos, made me want a snow wheeler every time I watched one.

Whats his name? Snow wheeling is always a good time. :D
