I drove it pretty much every weekend this summer! This has been a first for me to be able to have a rig in running operation for the whole season! I loved it! But I only have a few more trips then its back to the shop

this winter I would love (If the funds permit) to pull the fuel injected 350 and either rebuild it for more power, or swap in a 8.1L out of a 2003 Chevy. I found a 8.1L for $1500 and thats for the complete wiring harness, ecm, pulleys, etc. Im having A hard time making up my mind on that one. I also want to give my front axle some TLC with a detroit and 35 spline chromos. and last but not least I need to put a cage in it, I need to do this becasue I want to start to compete with the rig next year. Of course theres about a page long list of that ongoing "little things" such as replacing the wiper motor, finish my snorkle, fix a few wiring gremlins, paint it yellow (lol i think this time) and on and on.
 
i really liked the yellow on your old truck and honestly thats the reason i decided to paint mine yellow. its not finished yet so i didn't take any pics... it takes awhile to paint with cans, especially when your stopping every few inches to straighten to body and make it look nicev... to just then go and beat it up again. why not start with a fresh canvas! lol
 
my flowtechs i had to bend a lil to clear the number 6 spark plug.i also had to bend my z bar for the clutch linkage.mine is still manual linkage.also had to reverse the shackle bolts on the lower end because they rubbed when they flexed.other than that ive had em on 10 years and they are still rusty but not leaking.
awesome build here k10 krwler.i hate wiring,but like having it look as nice as yours.:bow:

Thanks for the info! I think changing plugs is a pain in the ass with the flowtechs. and on my last truck i remember it hitting my shackle bolt as well.
 
Well it was my birthday 3 days ago and i got one of the best presents EVER! long story short my dad blew the engine in his 84 crew cab 2wd dually and gave it to me as a birthday present. he has done a ton of work to it and i'm stoked to have it as a tow rig.

I'll be rebuilding the 454 this winter, and the main goal is to have a torque monster that is reliable and pump gas friendly. any info on how I should build this would be appreciated. I know there are a lot of threads on 454 building, so ill have some reading to do.

thanks! yeah, i'm guessing it was the cold, the first flat the valve stem froze and snapped off and the second one was due to a stick and mud frozen in the bead, if it was warm I'm sure it would have not got stuck in there,
 
wow thats my kind of wheelin. ive been workin my arse off to get my truck ready for some snow/mud wheelin. i guess its a good thing i dont live in canada cause the trucks not ready yet!

i love your truck and cant wait to see the winter upgrades.

Thanks! lol, there is only one bad thing about winter wheeling, and that is you are damn cold when you are sitting around the fire at night.

your truck looks pretty nice as well. what do you have left to do?
 
well i was just gonna do crossover steering (finally) but that turned into a whole mess of work that now needs to be done. and i need to find some H2 17" wheels for a reasonable price. tie up some loose ends and should be ready for winter, then redo drivetrain next year (and mabee 52's :D).
 
Well the time has come To finally start back on the rig! I have A looong damn list of stuff I need to get done before the season starts again. I figure seeing how every year My truck goes through a major Change, why should this year be any different? So after many nights of pondering, I decided to start on my dovetailed front and rear! here are a few pics to set things off

How many inches did you take out?

Do you have any more detail pics of how you shortened the core support?

How does the gap at the doors look?

In case you didn't notice I want to do this also :D
