The fabric on those seats will wear away in less than sixth months. You'll be down to the foam in no time. Mine need to be redone pretty badly. Just a heads up.
went and rented a mig welder at the home depot. Burned in my rear spring perches and did the modifications needed to the core support. All axles are bolted in and the core support and radiator are installed. This pic is before I finished it, I did patch that little square in on the core support.
I got my rims and tires! painted em up put em together. It's been sooo long that I put the last tire on, dropped it to the ground and it started rolling backwards!!! I had to quickly chock a piece of wood under the tire..
I'm having issues with the rear gear set up. I got into it to get the backlash adjusted to spec. Turns out the pinion had a little wiggle in the retainer, so I chucked it on the vise and tightened the pinion nut a bit till I got a decent preload. upon further investigation I find that the they are not even a matching set! I hate E-pay!! sooo much!!
I'm gonna try to get the best pattern I can and run it.
What we got here is 8 bolts recentered, 37" baja t/a, pvc double beadlock inserts, and standard rock rings. mocked up the front fender to check the clearance.
Nice! Good to see those getting put out so someone can use them. We had dozens of pallets of them sitting here along with hundreds of pallets of the MT/R's on 24 bolts doing nothing. They finally started shipping them to units so they could replace their older style MT's and RT/II's.
Well I got a fan shroud from a 97 6.5 diesel truck. Mocked it up to find that all the work I did getting the radiator to fit was useless. Took it all back appart to cut it up and move the radiator mounts 2" toward the passenger side so the shroud would center on the fan.
Getting the older style core support to work with the 32" radiator was a PIA! But it's all back together now and I just need to fab something up to make the top stay in place.
The shroud also had to be lowered down an inch because of the ORD body lift. I notched the shroud around the steering box and covered the hole with some shaped metal work from inside. I used a piece of aluminum angle on the bottom to attach it to the core support.
Well it looks like I finally figured out my why my injection pump wouldn't give me fuel! So I should be able to cobble it together and make it a runner! Updates coming soon!!
