well here is my 1973 blazer, ive had 2 other blazers a 76 and an 85 and wanted one that was a full removable hard top.

i found this one on craigslist. 1973 K5, 350, th350/205 (blown tranny), 6" lift, 44 with 4.10s, 14FF with 4.10s, soft top and hard top, aftermarket leather bucket seats, and a whole lot of garbage inside.

here are some pics of when i got it home and stripping the interior. and my rust issues. also the kitchen flooring they installed over the rust :doah:

Looks like a fun project! Oh, and great sig line btw. I'm going to use that line that next time I go out. That is of course if you don't mind being quoted for a good cause! :D

what ive done

oh and i have brand new 35" BFG mudders im going to swap out the rear axle for my other 14FF with 4.10 and a detroit. also have a 44 in the shop with 4.10s and a messed up ring gear that will donate a trac loc locker.

if anyone has a name for this thing besides the "S.S. rust bucket" im open for suggestions.

not bad for $600 though

im planning on cutting out the rockers and welding in square tubing. buying a tubing bender in a few months to build the full cage. also came up with a poison spyder style rear tire carrier. have a MM 9500 winch, the hubs are new superwinch hubs.

the interior is going to be bedlined, change the heater to the summit style mojave heater.

well i worked on cutting out the drivers side floor this afternoon and the rocker panel. almost got it out before it got dark and my sawzall broke. i used a piece of scrap and braced the door way so the body wont move too much if any. well heres some pics

i think i decided what color to paint it. i didnt do much prep wotk and just kinda painted over whatever just to see how it was gonna look. i will end up going back over it once i finish my rust removal and paint prep. i will also be spraying the rockers with bedliner. so it will be silver and black.

what do you guys think?

That last pic brings back memories of my '75. I just left the top off all summer and tarped it like that and drove another car when it would rain. :)

up under the dash the original paint is the same color as yours. i thought about repainting it that color and calling it "craig 2" lol

Looks good. Silver and black is a good choice. How about calling it the Silver Bullet??

the paint is just ACE hardware rust stop paint. it actually covers pretty good, one coat covered everything. i did the windshield frame, the one bedside, and the dash and still have paint in the can. its just rattle can paint.

it will propably multi colored through the winter unless i can heated shop big enough to fit it in.
