Figured I'd start a conversion/build thread right in the thick of it here.....didn't really want to sell it. my Dodge is being far too tempermental to daily drive..........So

Meet the Albino Rhino........7' tall 7'6" wide of Chevy goodness......'cept for the bigblock :wink1:

The Ol' girl has to have a heart transplant. the 454 has to go.......I'm just waiting on the arrival of my 12 valve to get started...... its getting a disc brake converted D80 with new detroit trac-lock too...... debating on SAS front. I kind of like the IFS ride still. we'll see how it rides after the cummins conversion I guess. Airbag the rear D80. Power heated leather swap from newer Yukon or Suburban.

6" RCD kit

22.5" Alcoa dual conversion

drivetrain will actually be 12valve cummins 47RH automatic and the venerable 205. I will marry the ford case to the 47RH with the input from my other goofy dodge 205 and an advance adapter

Vortec 454 will of course make its way into the Z-28

interesting. what is about the big block in the truck that you don't like?
that it's not a Cummins.....:D

I've also got a Vortec 454 3500 and a Dodge or two..... I'm with Demon, no comparo....

Well the 10mpg bigblock has bearly enough power to get out of its own way in the 7500lb truck. The sun has set on this bigblock's working days.

This is going to be my new DD/ tow rig so running to work on the highway needs the reliability & MPG. Easy power to be had if needed with a P7100 pump'd 12 valve too. Going to pull camper and quads eventually.

OK going to pickup the '95 Dodge 12v donor on June 7th. Ordered 6" RCD lift today. going to dual 37's on it.

I'll just throw up a picture every now and again then...........

the 37s will be Toyo M/Ts 37x13.50R22 on Aluminum Alcoas

using these.

More junk.........picked up 6 Alcoas this AM. Went with Freightliner directionals. All in good shape but need a power polish in a pretty bad way. May not use the Toyos, may go with a true 255/70r22.5 , which is still a 36-37" tire.

Subscribed! Keep the pics coming!

I'm wanting to do kind of the same thing. I'll probably powdercoat the wheels black though.

they're 22.5x8.25...... 7300lb load capacity each :p: I pressure washed all the crud off them today, going to soda blast them tommorrow morning. then we'll see just how much polishing power I'm going to need.

I've pretty much narrowed tires down to Yokohama 507s in a 255/75, they're not as agressive as I originally wanted but, I found a good price on them new so thats that. they're a load range H or something.

Those adapters are beef. My buddys dad has them on his 04 and when he put them on he said they musta weighed 80lb's each.

they're beefy....no way 80lbs of beef. but plenty soild.
maybe 50 at most. Ok I'll weight one at work tommorrow and get back to you.

OK scales are in........`1 rear adapter (thicker slightly, longer lugs) weighs exactly 32lbs with 10 lug nuts. 1 bare rims weighs 55 lbs.

Out of curriosity what'd the RCD lift set ya' back?
I've been kicking around the idea of yanking off the 3" BL and going to a true 6" lift on my SRW K3500 to run some 35's but every kit I've found is practically 1/2 the price of the truck it seems like...

EDIT: nevermind... I found someone that had the RCD kit pricing...
