Project OVERKILL - Ppump 24v Fummins swap started

Bags like a big rig...not like a low rider. Not gonna take much air to attain ride height.

Rene

Yeah I know... I just wasn't sure if he was going with "helper" bags or straight bags...
The only thing that scares me with straight bags is what to do if there is a failure... obviously this is a slim chance but at least with leaves you could continue on... if a bag tears, air-line/fitting breaks or something like that you'd be toast....

holy you're captain paranoid. its not an issue. believe me. the bags have internal bumpstops. you can drive on them flat if it really came down to it.

besides if the air gets out I have everything in my garage to fix the lines, which I'll keep in the truck anyways. and the bags themselves. they;re not made of balloon rubber. unless a rock gets up in the fold and wears through. you're pretty much gold.

I have a better chance of blowing a tire than blowing a bag......wait I'm running load range H tires........scratch that. I have a better chance of blowing my engine than a bag........wait. I'm running a 12v cummins.......ok tranny. I have a way better chance of cooking the automatic than blowing a bag.

:haha:

I know I know...what a weiner. :D

Now that you found the weak link in your setup, you ought to look into swapping in an Allison. :haha:

Watercut link brackets. Firestone airbags.

Thanks guys.........I thinks its fun. Well this is what I do for fun anyways. tinker with stuff. I want the best of everything truck. 500+ rwhp that rides like a Caddy, I can beat the snot out of. pull anything I want it to........ and have paid less than $15,000 to get there and then drive to work the next day :deal:

Still waiting on CrewCab59 to get motormounts to me............ but found a shred of light to keep me going. Some one in TX did this '96 up with the same rims. and a cummins, but used a VE rotory engine (I won't hold that against him though)

I have a 98 Suburban with heated seats so i figure if my Sub has them your model truck in a certain trim should come with them. Either way Suburban seats will bolt right up to your truck. just my .02. Subscribed

So, heres a question out to the GM gurus. Was there a power/heated leather seat interior option for this vintage body style?

If there is I'm looking for a black set front and back if anyone has any leads.

thanks

...........picked up my rims this afternoon :partytime: Need to order tires now.

They shined up pretty good for a set of salvage yard babies........the two rear inners are the worst for pitting but you'll never tell unless you crawl right up under there. Going to use a set of Nitto 285/45R22s on these. sold the twin turbos off my Dodge today. Now I can buy the tires

Just picked them up. after months of battling to get them done. I'll put them on after work tommorrow. I went with 305/45r22 Nitto 420s. they're still load rated to almost 3000lbs a tire so it'll do.

stock tires are aprox 31" tall on the truck new ones are ~32" off the truck. stock Duals are 18 wide, new measure 24" wide.
