Project OVERKILL - Ppump 24v Fummins swap started

I like the chrome centers too....are you going bigger on the 19.5"s?

Needs white letters...:haha::haha::haha:

I have this same size set now waiting to go on my crew cab, they are roughly 33" tall
They look puny on that truck, they look just right on my crew cab.

Semi-related question for you guys -

Are there any semi/OTR/dump truck type tires out there for a "light truck" size rim? Say 16-18"?
Last week my roomie and I were driving to work and were following a rednecked out 90's Ram 2500 CTD. Big stack, truck nutz, big chrome Cummins sticker, the usual. Except for one thing...he had some narrow semi truck looking tires on some WIDE rims. Thinking like 8" wide tread tires on 10" or wider rims. Looked screwy as all hell but when we got next to him they looked like regular Weld rims or some other fancy deep dish aftermarket aluminum wheels.

I will take a pic of one of my semi tire looking 16.5" tires, it might be what you saw.
I think these come in sizes like 9.00R16.5 or 11.0R16.5

It was definitely in the 35" tall range...just WAY to narrow for the rim he had it on. They stuck out from under the truck and the sidwalls looked like / \. Silly really.

Yeah they run up to 38" tall if you want 11.0R16 is 38" tall:whistle:

Yeah, I had 11.00R16 Michelin XL's on Big Ugly.

These were definitely a road truck tread with a big square continuous shoulder and a road tread.

these 225/70r19.5s on my truck now at 95 psi. measure 31" tall on the one with new tread and 30.5" on the ones that are 50% or low tread.

I got a loose one in the box I'll measure that one too later.

My bad, I have a set of 225/70/19.5 and a set of 245/70/19.5
The latter should be 33 the 225's should be 32
But we all know how nominal size is never really what they are.
Mine are 100% tread so will measure both but I know they are not 1" difference for sure, they are about 1/4" or so different, but they are also different brands.:dunno:

So are you measuring vertical or side to side?
I know that effectively the radius from center to bottom is the real radius you get, but when I measure a tire for tru size I measure it side to side and some are true size and some are about an inch shy of their nominal size.
You can not ask a tire manufacturer to give you the size of the tire loaded because pressure and size of load affects that drastically and the size of the tire on the top is important for clearance issues so that is the number you get.
:dunno:
I hope I didn't ass u me too much :waytogo:

soooo, a bud got a line on a couple sets of 5ton rockells up in the arctic. like yanked from scrapped military trucks that were in the arctic.

..........should I? airbags? :doah:

You should. I will give you a $500 for your current set of axles :D

Mmmmkay, I'll mull it over. I promise!

I have wanted a set of Goodyear mvts for a long time though. If you serve me a set of those maybe we're on to something.
