Project OVERKILL - Ppump 24v Fummins swap started

I would love to drop down a K19 cummins in it. but for funding and availiablility the Series 60 it is going to be.

although the Allisons are mighty they are not indestructible

heres a HT755 that last week came out of a western star tandem tandem chassis oil field rig.

ooooops.......

Where was the PTO bolted on at? Side cover is there so I'm guessing it was on top?

We just got done doing a world 6 speed in a pete 377. And then they wanted hydraulics put on. 2 words...cluster f**k. I'm so glad I was not part of that abortion. Day cab road truck with a 450 DD60S. Thing runs just great. So the driver's been hot rodding it and somehow broke the case in half. Thats without any PTO on it. We had to cut the battery box move an air tank and put a jackshaft extension on the PTO so the pump fit in between the frame rails. This thing will be shrapnel in 90 days after it's back in service.

Hijack off*****************************************

the Super60 and Dana110 4.30 ratio. truetrac rear. the SRW conversion rims I ordered are waiting for me to pickup in sweetgrass MT right now. soon soon swap time.

I would like to have a 14L S-60 to put in it , at least then I could afford to drive it!!

Love this build. I'm trying to find an automatic to put behind a dt466 for a crewcab but all I've found that doesnt need a computer is an at545 and mt643. Maybe you could recommend something? Also would a dana 60 handle that motor or would I need the heavier axle? This will be a badass truck for sure you should put it in dieselpowermag when your done.

Hey Luke, what size are the Ujoints on the Super60? Pinion and the outers?

big.....the outters are 1550s which is why the super60 has a superior turning radius at 45* on the knuckles compared to any 1ton @ 37* ish. the pinion I haven't actually measured, but it looks like a 1480? but I'd have to measure.

with a SAE bellhousing. you can run any allison behind it. as a 2wd, then a divorced case if you're going 4wd. theres nothing wrong with either of those 2 trannies you listed. but the 643 would be the to have as is higher gvwr, input rating, lockup in 3&4.

But I mean you could then jump to a HT750 which is hydraulic governed as well, but its a big ass tranny.

could not for the life of me, find 335 XZLs or a reasonable priced MPT81. So I nailed down a set of 80% 37/13.5r20 toyo MTs for it. should be fine for the meantime. goal to be done suspension and diffs by end of Jan. or sooner.

Cool build, I would love to do this to my super duty someday:waytogo:

I met a guy recently who did a 6bt cummins conversion in his Chevy dually and used the whole setup out of a big truck, can't remember what brand but his tranny was enormous, again cant remember the #s but it was a six speed allision auto with a in cab controller out of his donor. He said it was around 1200 pounds:eek1: It was a very cool conversion but the trans was taking lots of space in the cab, barley enough room to operate the gas pedal.

heres the youtube clip I remembered seeing about turning radius. quite obvious the super60 turns the knuckles tighter.

The Ford guys cheated,they... well they...CRAP!

Thats quite a difference. Cool to see, I didn`t know they could turn that good.
