Project Penny - All good things must come to an end

More the 6 speed and ease of installing an off the shelf tuner for on the fly tuning that interests me. But I'll spend less re-gearing to fix my highway RPMS and paying for some proper dyno tuning in Edmonton to make a couple tunes on a DSP5 switch.

The LB7 makes a crapload of power as is.

So, after blowing my transfer case up back in April or May I finally got around to repairing it and Penny is now mobile again. I've got a new rear axle on hand but still need to move forward with a new front housing before I swap it in.

I'm taking Penny out on a wheeling trip the second week in August for our annual mountain run. Should be a good week of camping, relaxing and wheeling :)

I still need to repair the front air locker line I ruptured and also re-assemble the interior I'd ripped apart to install a hydronic engine coolant heater. I'll finish that install later on.

I am not sure... I'd rather the Tahoe cause I can sleep in it. The buggy would allow me to go more places and have lots of fun on the hardcore / technical sections.

I trust Penny more at the moment than the buggy too. Still working the bugs out of the buggy.

Where are you finding all these clean 2 doors?!?!

That one looks exactly like my highschool/college ride. Even ran those 17" avalanche wheels for a while. Loved that rig.

Can't see the dash profile, what year?

This one is a 97. Found it on a classifieds site. Poorly titled listing with no pictures and cheaper than any of the rest that are for sale.

Dude drove it over 350 miles for a shift working up in my area for me to have a look at it. Didn't even haggle on the price!

This one is a replacement tub for Penny. I don't plan on swapping right away though. Penny's sheet metal is unrepairable but she is still weather tight and driveable. I'm going to run her current tub until I can't put glass back into it anymore then do the swap later on down the road.

Expect some big things coming for Penny in the coming future. I just sold / traded my buggy to a semi-local fabricator who happens to be one of the best in the buisness here. He is going to replace the 3 link suspension up front, install 64" rear springs out back and install a roll cage. With the cash portion of the deal I will purchase a new front differential for him to build and install as well as replace the rear diff with a newer disc brake 14 bolt.

Penny is finally going to drive properly and I'll be safer when I eventually roll her. I'll have the cage built in such a way that it can be removed and swapped over to the new tub later on down the road when that happens.

I'm looking forward to finally having her fixed up properly the way it should have been from the very beginning!

BB depends on what goes on for the 2014 race season and how broken all my trucks are around that time of year

Nice score on that one Russ, good to see a good deal come your way!

Yep, AB registered. 302k on it just like my 95 had.

The buggy isn't right for me, I rarely use it. The buggy racing scene is full of people I want very little to do with around here so I'll stick to my full bodied toys for now

So you going to sell the buggy then?
