I'll likely start a new build thread and let this one die. I've got Penny listed for sale on a couple local classifieds but given the brutal state of our economy I'd be shocked if it sold. I'll likely wind up disassembling and parting her out after I start putting the Escalade build together.
As sad as I am to read this update, dibs on the bumpers.
Rear diff if it comes apart? Lemme know.

Stripped my 83k20 off this spring, it was sitting more and more. It needed work that I didn't care to do, now I have a pile of diffs and some sas brackets......

It's a sad day indeed. Ironically I'm twisting and turning this very idea with a 96+ Tahoe body. All the Suburban minus the ridiculous overhang. Still a monumental decision when your making it it seems. I'm ready for either build thread. Always interesting.

I put a new set of batteries into Penny over the Christmas break and spent some time giving her some love. I fixed the CB antenna coax and installed a new antenna, re-installed and inflated the spare, put my high lift jack back on, replaced a spot light bulb up front, inspected / topped up all the fluids, inspected and re-packed the wheel bearings and greased everything up.
I'm going on our local annual new years day wheeling run and figured I should do my maintenance at home in the garage vs on the trail.
Looking at the front suspension and front diff just makes me bitter lol! But I must admit I wouldn't mind fixing this truck and continuing to run it. Just doesn't make sense to do all that work on a beat up / broken truck.

I still like it. You can send it to me if it's too much of a bother.
I would keep it as is and use it for fun...you can park it for a while like you did and get back to it for fun little trips when you feel like it.
Most of the parts on it you don't want to use on the Caddy anyway.

If it doesn't make sense to work on a beat down broken truck then this website may as well shut down. Or atleasst my portion of it should.

I'd sell it for 10k as is. Given the parts in her, that's a pretty solid deal IMO.
