You gotta have it half way in reverse.
The gear and the shifter.
 
Top is on and this is where it’s sitting. Won’t shift into any gears now though. The forks were hard to move once I pulled the top off.

Popped it into neutral from here with a screw driver and it’s all moving as it should.
 
So do you have fancy nylon dip at that special place you work that we’re not supposed to disclose?
 
When looking at replacement forks online the OE replacements don’t have the Teflon on them?

I also read that the wear of the coating can attribute to gears popping out. My reverse fork has no coating.

Really? I always presumed that is what failed mine

so you going to run it in the name of science?
 
I just looked at my spare parts pile. Reverse is not coated. 1/2-3/4 are.

since it’s easy to take off and replace those once it’s bolted in. Yes. Just gunna send it.

I will look around work and stop by the engine room and see what those guys use.
 
The only thing I can see being an issue is the fork wearing into the collar quickly. And after a ton of time causing it not to move the gear far enough into place causing a pop out condition.
