Nope. That’s what happened to mine in Moab a couple years back. Once the wear plating went away, it machined the fork with the gear sliderIt’ll be alright...

so like it’s stuck in two gearsTop is on and this is where it’s sitting. Won’t shift into any gears now though. The forks were hard to move once I pulled the top off.

I also read that the wear of the coating can attribute to gears popping out. My reverse fork has no coating.
Mine have all been the same.I just looked at my spare parts pile. Reverse is not coated. 1/2-3/4 are.
