My neighbor came over and told me he just sold a NV3500 set up 4 days ago. Hahaha

in the meantime I can get the wiring dialed in and put some speakers in at least.

definitely going to be taking things back to the drawing board.

is there a way to use this same pedal assembly with a hydraulic set up? I’m pretty sure I could make a couple heim joints run into a master cylinder. Done it before.

Shock need to move anyway so it’s more up and down

is the 45* a thing? It definitely caught me off guard. The towers appear to be bolted on where they are. Is this an old school conversion I’ve never seen?

The ford shock towers? It’s a popular mod
Mine has them, I torched the center out and pushed them more upright over the factory frame hump
My build thread has an index and good pictures if you need another rabbit hole...
 
These are just bolted on where they are. If I can move them to a 90* without effecting my steering shaft that would be awesome. That way I can proceed with the swap. I’m just trying to figure out why they were put at 45*.
 
90 would actually be past the center of the arc since the spring moves up and flattens. Maybe 88 1/3...

So does the angle give or take some sort of advantage? It would seem to me that giving angle to the shock would cause loss of the shocks absorption. I have tested this theory by stretching swing arms on motorcycles stupid long and leaving the shock mounts in the stock location. Lol

There is a “perfect” angle.

my point is that it will be almost a non existent change in ride it you move it two inches

if those 2 inches are that critical, you probably need to spend lots of money at ORD
 
This is just an idea that I got from Mack trucks, but what about a cable for the clutch? We have a couple of Mack dump trucks with 350K and over 400K miles on them and I have never had to put a clutch cable in one yet.
Sure, it would take some fab work to do, and to find the correct cable, but it would flex well. You would have to make the cable pull on the linkage by coming in from the transmission side to hook to the arm. This would require a loop in the cable under the truck, which would have to be routed away from the exhaust. I know that there are 3" and 4" stroke universal cables. Length shouldn't be a problem to find. I have some at work that are 22' long and some shorter ones too.
And since you are not scared of putting in some work, maybe this could be an option.

I thought about a cable clutch. That’s what I used in my Chevy Luv 4x’s
 
@Bent77 i tried looking through your build but didn’t see a pic of your towers next to the linkage. If you could snap a pic for me and post it here that would be amazing.
 
I cut a hole in the shock tower to clear the frame , and welded the tower to the hump
 
I’ve never seen shock towers just bolted on lol I was actually “shocked”. I don’t think just bolting in shock towers is a good way to go but makes moving them a crap ton easier.
 
nice thank you. Looks like I need to bust out the torch and welder. Did you also bolt them or just run a bead around the tower as well?
