Propane powered DD *Spark Plug, and mounting questions*

I think so. I like to wheel pretty hard and like that most tanks are 80 gallon so even at 10 mpg thats 800 miles between fill ups. It isn't perfect but cheaper than fi and will handle more angle than a q-jet. Of course if all you worry about is speed I would go for a pro-systems dominator.

I used to when I first got the truck, to get used to driving it and to get to the the truck. For my truck, propane is like magic juice to it. Trottle response is great, exhaust sounds are deeper and gets about 11 or 12 mpgs. Gas is only about 6mpg. I have been driving it all this week on gas cause gas is cheaper here, $1.97 compared to about $2.65 for pane. Normally when I fill it up I get all 80 gallons.

You boys got any pics of your tanks? What they run ya? DOT approved?

Yea my question is where do you mount the tanks? That's what I'm stuck on

Mount it front of the box. I have seen a saddle tank replacement that hung under the box but it was small like 15 gallons. If its a blazer I would think you could put in behind the rear seat and add a tube to the pressure blowoff to blow down outside the body.

Just looking to see how big of a tank you boys are running, size wise. I'm thinking I'll mount it at the front of my flat bed, but would like it to be easy to remove to get it filled.

Your not going to remove these tanks HEAVY. Get a forklift bottle if you want to do that. What kind of heat does your house have?

Oil heat here.

I heard they charge a motor fuel tax the second they fill a vehicle, so if the tank was portable, it would be a way to get around that.

Propane is common to heat your house with here and you get a filler off that tank. You could add propane heat to your garage and have them get you a 1000 gallon tank.

It depends on the tax. I called and here it's considered a clean fuel so you get a rebate

Propane and turbo's go together like beer and boobs, both good on their own, but together they're more than the sum of their parts.

Hmm mine is lacking as much power as a newer diesel which is why I want to replace it. I could turbo it and put in a overdrive and be good to go.

That makes absolutly no sence! You are saving almost $0.70 per gallon of fuel to get half the economy? At the rates you quoted you would be paying $0.24/mile with propane and $0.33/mile with gas.

He must have a hole in his gas tank as there is no way propane will give you double the mileage of gas....:screwy:

Mileage will decrease on propane on a dual set-up...ALWAYS. 20% less BTU's means you have to burn more, not less.

Another reason to stay away from a dual setup, and just go full blown propane, or stick with gasoline.

easy fill

its easier for me to put 20.00 in gas at a time than to fill it with propane. I have to open and close the valve everytime i start and shut the the vehicle off. I'm not saying this is true for everyone, just my truck.

For those of you DDing on propane, what are you seeing for MPG? \

I assume the throttle cable setup will remain the same? IE, my throttle cable and TV Cable will still hook up?
