Quick Fuel Technology vs Holley

@beags86 @Kain thanks for input. 1000% agree that performance out weighs flash, bling, etc. I just want it to work above all other things. i'll try to find out what cam is in the truck. will be doing some more comparisons on the different EFI options. i saw in one of the videos where the tank was needed to be dropped, drained, and tapped into with a return high pressure line? thats defiantly not ideal. I just installed the tank a month ago and don't want to take it off again lol. FiTech had some kind of pressure module that acted as a buffer between and allowed a return to run through the regular sending unit I believe. Is something similar available with the Holly system?

Honestly, imo the best way it to get the EFI, tank, pick up, and sending unit. I understand you just went through that, but replicating the factory setup will give you the best performance, the EFI tank has baffles to keep the fuel from sloshing around and keeps the fuel pump cool.
You don't get that by cutting into your existing tank.

and i put a efi sending unit in mine it will make less noise (trust me there annoying ) and makes the pump last longer
Like beags86 says^^

8.1 or a 350, us this really a question?

I would find another 8.1 if that's the case.
No reason to wait for them to find shipping, that's a couple hour process at best.

its not a store. its a guy that buys trucks and parts them out and usually local pickup. I don't want to pay gas/tolls for 12h drive then come home with a trailer for more tolls, gas, etc..

ive been reading up on the holley since seeing this thread and I like what I'm reading. if I end up not getting this motor.. ill give him more time.. I may have to just do this...

I understand, I just have a hard time believing you can't find a 8.1 closer.

Looks like there more then Enough with 100 miles?

Idk just trying to help.

So what are thoughts on multport systems vs TBI?

Looks like edlebrock has a system around 1600 thats full multiport that might help prevent any vacuum related issues that could pop up if the cam i'm running causes issues.

This EFI sump system is supposed to deal with the return line issues. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/edl-36031

I'm going to use a true mutiport EFI on my bigblock for my 2wd. If you can swing it cost wise, hands down it's a better way to go.

very nice kit, wish it was that price a year ago. I looked they were 3 grand get an in tank pump and a good regulator with it and that would be awesome

Got it, that's a good deal.

And update. He is slow at it. It will happen...

Motor is on a pallet. I'll sell it for 800. Just the motor. The harness is cut up where it entered cab. I'll include all connections that are on motor.

Will come with pcm and what not. I'll include what I can of harness. Will have manifolds. 02 sensors aren't any good I don't think

side note on the holley as I have been reading up on it... someone on amazon said they put one on their 79 ford and went through a car wash and it died. something went bad and they are waiting 2 weeks for the replacement part. well in a mud truck this would concern me, or if he just had an issue...

one of the reasons went with fitech is there are more then a few guy running these on off road rigs that use em
mud, rocks serious wheeling with no troubles

Well with all of the additional things needed to get the EFI route going I went with a Quickfuel 750 electric choke mechanical secondary carb. really pleased with it so far and I haven't really got it all tuned in. engine cranks and starts quite predictably. Carb was $350 and i'm planning on selling this racing 850 carb that was on it so it was the easiest route to get going. Factoring the need to replace gas tank, fuel pump, fuel lines where low pressure, amongst other changes i decided to keep it simple for now with the carb but definitely open to the EFI option in the upcoming year or years. Multiport options seem to be getting more and more prevalent and cost seems to be dropping there too so i'm comfortable waiting if this carb keeps me going for a couple years. Thanks for all the input and recommendations!!

I did upgrade to AN fittings from fuel pump to fuel pressure regulator to carb.
