Raggedy_Ann Build Process

Build process of my K% known as Raggedy Ann
from looking at a number of cage ideas, here is what i came up with so far as a base idea. what do yall think? what to take away or change. then your ideas to finish the restrev1.JPG

What about a V on each side there in the middle going up to the top bars. Mirroring the red bars.

The only they I might add to post #66 would be a V in the C pillar hoop from the center of the floor to the upper outer corners for side to side support.

It’s obvious you play hard and all of this points to playing harder so I would definitely added side to side bracing for a possible rear passenger.

yes i would like to do that to keep the rear section c hoop from folding in a roll event. i want to have storage in the rear most of the truck. when i get to that point i will see what space i have and how i can best achieve this

@70jimmy do you ever regret that B to C diagonal bar? I want to do that with mine but I worry it could be a head buster.

It could get smacked but only if you are a larger human. I tried to design it so I could sit in any of the seats and be fine. If it was bouncy and I didn't have my harness on I could hit but not likely unless it's really rough. I am 6'1 250. All seats have 5 point harnesses.

I have hit a couple times getting in and out, but I normally have padding on the cage too.

Last weekend was nothing but bump stop math. Im learning the rear is more difficult than the front to install. I spent all day Sunday mocking up bump stops and cycling the rear axle to make sure nothing hits and the bump stop is being used properly threw the axle compression and articulation. i have to say i am getting really good with cereal box cad. i also fixed my shoes because i know yall are very concerned. 6611.jpg

I brought my blazer to @85k5witha6.2 shop for Dans skills at bending tube making art! If I took on this task I would still be on the first bend 50ft later tuition pile!. Dan and I lived at his shop for 2 days and we got a lot of work done. RaggedyAnn is still at his shop waiting for more tube, bending, cutting, welding to be done. Im enjoying the fact my blazer is not at my house and im thinking about what next i need to be doing, a nice mental break. Here are some work progress photos.6871.jpg6872.jpg6873.jpg6875.jpg6876.jpg6883.jpg6885.jpg6886.jpg6887.jpg6888.jpg6889.jpg
