If you've fallowed my trials and tribulations with my 70 k5 you know I leak. A Lot. So after my last trip out a good romp in the woods with moderate highway before and after (about 250 miles) I was low another 2 qrs and the underside coated in oil all the way past the fuel tank.
I've since re-plumbed my oil sending unit as the leak was only at the back but I still couldn't tell for sure.
Today I cleaned the bay really well n thought while I have it out I'd run it to the store. Smell oil every time I get on it. Open the hood to what seems to be now the front valley gasket sprayed all over the water pump. The entire back of the engine is soaked as well as the entire underside and cross members. F*#K!
I'll add this is a fresh rebuilt 383 stroker sbc 010 block, icon forged pistons, file fit rings installed correctly. Nothing special.
I really don't understand
where all this case psi is coming from! Oil psi is 20-60 still running break in 5w30.
I understand it's hard/easy to speculate from an armchair but I'm at a loss. I really regret keeping numbers matching bc I don't care about that anyway. I should Ls swapped I'd be $4k ahead!

How did you seal the intake? I think I see blue rtv and that shit sucks. I only use Right Stuff. I put a fat dab in each corner where the head/block/intake meet, then set down the intake gaskets. Then another fat dab above the gasket. Then run a tall, like 3/8”, ridge across the front and back of the block. Carefully set the intake straight down and then rub right stuff on all the intake bolt threads. I have never had anything leak with Right Stuff. EVER.

On a positive note, you won't need to worry about undercarriage rust going forward.........

But seriously, did you check your dipstick tube?
True I don't have to worry about rust anymore but what about the dip tube that's pumping oil out too...

The block is zero decked so I'm not using gaskets front or rear as per my machinist and builder. It's not blue it's Grey rtv if that matters but it may be worth trying right stuff. I'll have to check the rtv thickness to see if I can use gaskets but this is the second time sealing the intake and I gobbed the shit out of the corners last time.

All n all, I still need to figure out why I'm seeing so much pressure. For forks sake it's spraying out from under the forking valve cover fill plug! I put the lower pressure spring in the moroso oil pump as well as tried 5w30 in stead of the 10w30.

Yeah, no gaskets at front and back ever. Just right stuff. But if you’re blowing out oil under pressure,
I think you have a bigger problem. Have you done a compression and leak down test? You could have a broken ring.

I have to agree.
You should be able to remove the oil filler cap and have enough blow by to make adding oil difficult while engine is running, but not impossible.
If a steady stream of air is blowing out the oil filler.. you got a blow by problem.

Not so bad at idle actually no flow from the leaks but while driving I'm dousing oil everywhere

I guess I'll try reseal one more time before I pull the engine and go through to see of I have ring problems

Yes I added a pcv and blocked the other fill hole in the valve cover.
So then you have the breather in the opposite valve cover, correct?
Just making sure that the air has a way into the engine, to keep from sucking gaskets in.
I have used gray permatex before, and found it on some engines. I would believe that it should be fine if used properly. Nothing against right stuff either.

That's a good point! What if it's sucking in! At this point maybe it's too late but if I reseal the intake and put a breather back on the other side... But it still doesn't explain why I'm still pushing out the dip and a lot around the blocked off grommet in that said valve cover... Argh! It drives me nuts

In that second picture, of the trans inspection cover, sure looks like a rear main seal leak.

Edit:
I had a friend block the pvc holes on his 345 international v8.
Blew out the rear main seal.
Not saying you did that.
But maybe you got a blow by problem that did.
