OK so I'm tuning the governor in my th350 so just out on my normal pavement only duty bc the passenger door keeps flying open when the body flexes and the ol lady almost falls out.
Anyways, if you fallow my build you'll know already that I can't get this fckn throttle body to idle correctly or return all the way. It's really pissing me off. To the point that this stroker is plowing through the brakes unless I pull the pedal lever back up with my toe. (can't leave the pedal on for that reason)
Now I know I'm a novice when it comes to this new fangled electronic fuel bs but I'm pretty sure I've fallowed the iac steps that only got me down to 800rpm I'm shooting for 700. I also can't turn the idle screw in for that reason so the butterflies stick in the throat after I pull it back up! Also causing drivability issues.
It is not the throttle linkage! It does this when it's not connected as well..

Im seriously annoyed.

Fitech only responds with how to fallow the iac steps. This does not work.

I'm seriously considering taking all this bullshit back off and putting a carb back in that I know I can tune and make idle.

Where is the benefit to this system?

Well it’s supposed to start nice and run smooth like most carburetors do not. But sometimes there are malfunctions.

Could be still some tuning issues or even an install issue. (Using the timing control?)

And there could be an issue with the unit

I pulled my injection off yesterday because it was giving me some issues. I figured out what the malfunction was (besides the tune) when I pulled it, but I fired it on a Qjet this morning. Even without setting the timing or idle screws, it sounded better.

Seems like you have to get it to return all the way back before you mess with the idle. Is it physically not closing or something else?

Have you checked to make sure there is enough clearance between the TBI primaries, and the intake manifold plenum port. The TBI primaries could not be aligned properly with the intake plenum port, and catching on the intake plenum port, thus causing it to hang open. Try loosening the TBI bolts just a little, and move it around until the primaries open and close smoothly. Then tighten it back down there.

Not using the timing control yet just a dui hei, at this point I feel this unit is defective though it runs fine and starts ok.

Honestly I'm really not sure. I've tried disconnect all power and screw the idle in then reconnect to see if it would relearn zero but still no luck

That's an idea! That would throw off the position sensors as well

Based on what you just said in your thread, I’d try what 1ton said

Well if the throttle blades are sticking, it’s trying to correct for that instead of a mechanical return point

Maybe your garage music isn’t helping

There is a group on facebook you can get help from. they are real good with the system. they are a bit touchy though

FiTech owners group

search for the group and sign up, I have to read pinned post but there is a way to make it return to idle faster
