Rear disc brake conversion Blazer

I was able to find this axle locally. Probably pick it up for a few hundred. Looks ugly. ReactNativeBlobUtilTmp_w79e3wncdwer6bqlrcuppl.jpeg
Will need mounts, gears, seals…probably something with those brakes.
Is this a good start?

Chevy semi-float 14 bolt corporate rear axle rear end. 4.10 gears with disk brakes. 8 lug. 2000 year model.

Just that it’s my daily driver and I want the best brakes I can have. Certainly some nicely adjusted drums would make a good difference…
And I think I could sell this nicely done 10 bolt for a few bucks, so I don’t think I’d be out too much for the upgrade in axle and brakes…thoughts?

Cool, I’m hearing you guys. And I’m listening because I really don’t know the best way to go. But, I’m understanding that the less drama way to go about this is to just make sure my current system is functioning as it should.
And that’s not going to cost me much at all. And I feel good about it.
I seem to be prone to some overkill.
Much appreciated.

I am surprised no one has mentioned the t-case sitting next to the axle...

I agree in your situation the best approach is fixing your brakes.
Alright, since ya brought it up I’ll ask about the old NP-200 or 201 or 202 - at this point it’s been too long since I kept up the differences between the grandfathers of our beloved 205.
So, is that your divorced case ?

It’s an NP200, just comes with that axle. No idea on condition. Though if I had to guess by the picture….

Is there an output yoke on the parking brake or just a flat flange holding the brake? If there is a yoke, I would like to buy it for my M715 which also has a divorced NP200.

if sacramento is close i want to say someone is selling a full floater from a 73 3/4 ton on facebook market place
