Rear disc brake conversion Blazer

Super appreciate the lead (I did see it), but I think if I’m going to start building another axle, I’d want it to be discs.

There are a couple on FB, but seems like it’s hard to tell when they were posted or if they’re still available. No responses. A 6 lug disc would be ideal.

Got it. I just recently purchased a disc brake conversion. I’m working on a 14 bolt semi float. Of course this axle wasn’t available when I was looking or I would have been all over it. For my build the 9.5 should do fine

Ya I contacted the guy, but I’m not sure my messenger is working. But I love that it’s a 6 lug. A gear swap and I may be close to near a beginning of a start to be on my way!

Chris Ziemer. If you're still looking for a rear disc brake swap kit I’d recommend SSBC. I put them on my 12 bolt like over ten years ago and they’re still doing great. The kit uses Mustang Cobra rear calipers with a built in cable actuated emergency brake levers. I rebuilt my calipers a couple years ago (clean up and new seals) and they’re ready for another decade. I also upgraded to Wilwood D52 aluminum dual piston calipers up front and added an adjustable proportioning valve and the system works great, it’s much, much better than stock brakes. You will need an adjustable proportioning valve which I added in place of the brake lines connector on the passenger side frame about half way between the front and rear axles. With a little persuasion it went in easy and no need to cut and flare any brake lines. It is also tucked up out of the way on the frame rail where it won’t get damaged. GM truck 10 bolt and 12 bolt kits are the same so no issues there. Good luck!

That’s a nice looking kit. Seems like they’d work with my 15 inch rims.

Front and rear disks/ calipers fit just fine with my 15 inch MT Classic Baja Lock wheels. The only issue is that I couldn’t use the stick on weights on the inner diameter flat area of the front wheels because they just barely hit the Wilwood D52 calipers. The wheels balanced out fine with the weights in different places closer to the outer edges. The rear calipers had zero issues.

I know everyone has moved on, but just wanted to update my brake sitch. I ended up taking it in for a brake job (locking up in the rear, swerving when the pedal was applied).
Turns out I had two different calipers! They put new discs on the front, turned the rear drums, etc…
Anyway, pretty damn happy. Thank you for your encouragement to start here!

This week, rolling my pinion up and adding a double Cardon.

thanks for update . and there is a specific 1/2 and 3/4 ton piston size on front calipers . most never get down this road but glad you got it figured out .
