Here's my 1986 Chevy K5 Blazer. I bought it back in 2006 for $900, and I've put... well, I've put a lot of money into it. :doah: Anyhow, I've rebuilt the entire engine, GM fuel injection, all new A/C components, cooling, steel braided tranny lines, new gears in diff, late model grille, late model bumpers, Warn grille guard, new glass, new rubber around glass, new headliner, stereo, etc. I hope you like the pics...

That is quite the transformation. What brand/color paint is that? I am assuming you sprayed it, how any coats?

Looks great by the way

I used PPG Audi Misanorate red. I put two coats of primer and 3 coats of paint on it. Thank you for the compliments.

Very nice. I like your paint booth. Did you color sand or buff after painting?

Man that looks good! I wish I had the time, patience and most of all skill to do that.

I'm curious how you took care of the rust on the half cab where the "factory roll bar" is. Mine is rusting in the same place...

Hard to believe for a southwest truck but its happening. :(

The cab was in pretty bad shape. You can see from the pics that as I started sanding a lot of holes appeared. I had several around the front window too. Basically I sanded the crap out it to get back down to bare metal. I then painted the problem areas with POR-15. There's a lot of controversy on whether or not this stuff works or is a joke. But, I had nothing to lose. After the POR-15 dried I sanded everything again and puttied up the holes with polyester filler.

Looks fantastic man!

Only thing I would do is grab a can of undercoating and spray the inside of your fender wells black again...

I wish I had that kind of talent too!

I'm going to paint the inside fender wells black. I'm also going to color sand and polish the truck soon. I'm just really tired from all the painting.

Congratulations on a job well done. I know that's a lot of work.

If it's orange peel you're worried about, I find that pinstriping the whole body with brush on tight trails really helps to hide it! It's less work and more fun, but I suppose right now you are more interested in keeping it nice for a while.
