well we got it out only broke the tab of the tranny dipstick tube,that thing weighs a ton
another question can we put it back in apart or is that to much of a pina?

I'll post up some pics of the transfer case later. Maybe someone can identify it. Of course, it's probably stock, so if anyone knows which transfer case went on a fulltime 4 wheel drive 76 Blazer, it's probably the same one. Damn thing weighs a ton is all I know.

If its full time then its a NP203. They are extremely heavy compared to a part time transfer case.
As far as putting the Trans back up with the transfer case. It depends on your set up. If you're on your back with no jack. Then id put them in separate. First thing I tell people about Trans jobs. They come out easier than though go in. Damn gravity only helps remove them.

Truth spoken, put them in seperately, that 203 is a Goliath and could do some real damage to you if it was dropped.

We had a helluva a time getting both out together. That transfer case is heavier on one side than the other, which made removal that much more difficult.
Once we bolt the transmission to the engine, we can drop the jack, right? That transfer case needs two jacks to get the damn thing into place, and we're only working with two jacks.

I'd support it somehow as not to put to much strain on the mounts or break a distributor cap.

ya need some more jack stands and if we can put it back separate then that's how we will

It's taken me a while, but I've finally been able to clean my th350/np203. I didn't go very well. Looks like the PO had an oil leak for 20+ years. This stuff is like concrete at this point.
I should probably use a solvent at this point, but those work best when soaking. Not gonna happen. I don't have a tub big enough, nor do I have the money for the amount of solvent needed to fill the damn thing. So, I need some tips on what to do next. Anyone successfully cleaned something that had 20 years worth of gunk built up?
Sorry about the size of te pics, but I really don't feel like going through the trouble of resizing them. Besides, it really helps to see the thickness of the gunk buildup.
