Replaced injector pump in 6.5 but now issues

I just had the injector pump replaced (have only driven it 40 miles) and was told the timing needed to be set with a Tech 2. Found a shop that had one and now it's throwing a P1218 code and is surging. Idling at 1200rpms. Was told the injector pump calibration circuit is bad therefore the injector pump is faulty. Help please. I've been without my truck for 4 months and I need it running!!!

I’m betting that you will get more traffic in the “Diesel” thread section more so than this general garage section - most of the guys that monitor that section are very diesel tech savvy.

What year is your 6.5? Sounds like you have an electric IP. Read this:
