That's probably the only use they have.
I broke mine trying to expand an exhaust pipe
I have this Lisle set Lisle Pipe Stretcher
I use an impact on it and haven't had any issues so far. It probably wouldn't work on some old quality steel, but on all the 14-16ga stainless and steel tubes I've used it works great.
I'm just looking at the before pictures trying to figure out how to get those mounted on the shop truck :D.

Started the truck to move it. Letting warm up, I smelled raw gas. Saw this, so I moved it quickly.

They are not in the best of shape. But they are functional.

The new mirrors work a lot better because I can adjust them down. Being short and lowering the seats, the original mirrors were useless.

I also realized today, the rear end has been narrowed. I had noticed what thought might be welds on the tubes. Never looked hard at them. This truck will fit between the fenders on my trailer. The 4wd Crew Cab outer tire hung off of the trailer 1/2 a tire on each side.

Are you saying it had a regular dually axle and was narrowed, as opposed to using a cab and chassis narrow axle?

C&c axle is like 63" wide hub face to face if i recall . Srw is 67" wide and truck with box and flairs is 70" wide if i recall . . . And c&c / srw same housing and axle shafts just were they weld on the flange for brakes and drw hubs . Van width srw is widest at 72" if i recall spec correctly.

I like it above the marker light. More traditional location to me. But it is a truck that bears zero lineage to the muscle cars of yesterday so it’s totally up to you. That’s just what looks “right” to me.

My first thought was by the marker lights. But GM always put the badging at the back of the fender. Looks funny on this.
