This is why I ask questions on this forum. Only issue with that is no speedo feed. GPS speedo would be OK with me.

But the transfer case is already sitting here. :thinking:

T case would give you speedo output too no?
 
more i think it over i say keep it simple . gears in the rear . 14ff stupid easy to do and the rest is in working order . and the 454 power will over come the gears .
 
i have the 2wd tail shaft and housing for a 4L80-e and it was for a fixed yoke .

and they make 3.42 gears for the 14ff rear . and they made and might still find 3.21 gears .
I really do not want to tear the transmission apart to replace the output shaft.

If I regear, it will be more gutless than it is. Until the LS swap.

Being an 85, it has the worst heads gm ever put on a big block. And designed with low compression.
 
well you want the power tour so time to swipe the c.c. and show them what power can do for a rolling brick wall with a wing .
 
Throwing in the 4l80e should hold up nicely to any future upgrades, use the tcase to do a modern awd front end. That way it could be lowered some.
 
Why can’t you do 4wd lowered with bags? Always been a dream to build a lowered 4wd diesel with 700hp.
Unnecessary, I guess. A lot less to go wrong or have to work around.

We did lower my younger brothers square, 4wd s-10. Only needed 4wd to get the jet skis out of the lakes.
