Utlilmaster P30
Tail of the dragon is an attentive ride, but fun.
wade isnt that hiway 28 also called the hellbender? I enjoyed riding that one more so than the TOD.
Or Back of the Dragon..

What's the plan for the new chassis?
It will be shortened correctly. Linked, bagged and set up for a body swap. I can still drive the truck while prepping the frame.

i know that shape and rivet pattern . spring hanger for rear .

my 2wd build i raised the front up 2" and the back 1" longer shackle to make it 2.5 drop to match the front drop spindles .

I'm about to do the same to my suburban.
If it wasn't for that I'd have been staring at it wondering what you were up to lol

Some days I am my own worst enemy.

Pulled the left front hanger. Drove to the metal supplier to get some 3/16" sheet. I was out????? Added material to the bottom. Redrilled. Cleaned, sand blasted, painted and crawled under to install. That is when it hit me. "Why am I spending so much time and energy on something I am going to throw away. I should have chiseled the rivets, cleaned the surfaces, moved the bracket up 2 inches using the axle, and burned it in.

I would be done by now. Still need to remove the right side. They will both get metal glued on tomorrow morning.

i just welded up the extra old holes and drilled new and bolted on with grd8 7/16 bolts and a shoulder on them to FILL the holes like a rivet and stover crimp nuts .

This frame has stamped ridges that index the hanger to the frame. Moving it up means I have to rework the bracket to fit those stampings. Grinding them down would go through the frame.

The P30 is a slightly different beast.
sound like my gmt-455 3500-HD frames same way stamped area for the hangers to sit in place .
