Trip report...

I looked up the receipts for tires this morning, the front tires were on it when I bought it. So, at just short of 5 years old, they failed. Left one at Indy by accident. The other one went into a motel dumpster. Saved $16. I was going to bring them home for warranty purposes. I am glad I didn't.

ReTonkulous did great, until it didn't.

I had noticed that the blinker quit canceling the first day. No big deal. Cheap aftermarket steering column. On the last day, I was going through a small town, started turning left and the truck went straight. :yikes: Hit the brakes and I was able to turn the truck. Drove it into a shopping center and the steering wheel and adapter came off in my hands. When I hit the brakes, the adapter slid back onto the shaft. No bueno. Fixed it and continued on.

1734 miles total. MPG at the last fill up on the road was 13.85 overall.

I drove this thing like I stole it. Up and back was 5 over the limit everywhere and 10 over a number of times. 75 to 80 MPH constantly. 85 MPH when passing. Passing on the 2 lane roads was not an issue.

I have to say that I am supper happy with the way it ran. The drive train swap was well worth it.

I will add pictures later.

Pretty awesome trip, I think I want to see how the west side turns out and I will probably join it in a couple years. Although I think it wouldn’t be as cool as these small towns.

Life happens fast on that pro tree. Stage and load it up lol
