That did not last long. An hour from home, freeway was closed, took me off on a side road, left front brake failed on it. That was fun on a two-lane mountain road. Trailer is on its way.

I forgot my floor jack and jack stands. So fixing it in the Walmart parking lot isn't going to happen. I'm too old to thrash on stuff like this on the road.

I will need to remove the tow hitch. It hung up so bad, I had to air the front tires down to 15psi to get the truck on the trailer. We jacked the tongue up as far as we could. A 2x4 on each side at the ramps would have helped.

The brake pads were available locally where I stopped. The hub/rotor was 2 days out. Why doesn't anyone in a small town in Tennessee stock 40 year old 1 ton hubs? :haha:

I would have thought that would have been common, guess you can pack one in your parts bin.

Not sure yet. It went crunch, grind, crunch, grind, grind. On a mountain road. Pulling right hard. Sounded front left. It appears the pad is gone. Was above 70% in October. Has a couple thousand miles since then. My guess is the old pads disintegrated on the left side. No warning. I should have taken them out a while ago. It will all be new when I get to it.
