Revival of the "classic hauler"

If it's just the wipers not working that is a pretty simple circuit. First check the fuse, if it's good take your meter (or test light) and check for power at the plug. If you have power it's the wiper motor, if not start working your way back to the switch.

Congrats on the truck- and the new photobucket skills:D That thing is a good match for the 'burb.

Hey guys small update

Hey everybody just thought id let yall know im a supporting member now and I also purchased a sub to alldatady.com my next mission is to get a printer and build my own service manual of sorts it would more than likely been cheaper to just buy a manual after all the paper and ink and the sub but owell

but an update on the dually not much to tell money is a little tight so its a good time to get some meticulous small stuff done so just working on getting some of the hokey wiring straightened out (getting rid of crappy butt splices and wires just twisted together and taped) Ive been soldering and heat shrinking but that's about it thanks guys have a good night

drive shaft question?

Hey guys just wondering if any knew if I'm gonna have to get my rear drive shaft altered since I swapped in a sm464 with an np205 in place of the th400/205 I know its simple as going out and measuring but its pretty nasty out and I don't feel like laying in the snow right now

I can't say for sure that it will work, but the sm465 and th400 are of similar enough length that it should. There are guys on here who have done that swap without modifying their driveshaft length, IIRC.

Is your truck stock height or raised up?

She sits at factory ride height I didn't want to mess with its towing abilities

If you're not dealing with lift (and the longer driveshafts required), than you *should* be able to do the tranny swap without needing new driveshafts. But, as always, YMMV. Lots of folks on here have done "impossible" swaps without much difficulty, and lots of us have run into snags on routine issues. Beyond that you're just gonna hafta try it and see how it works. :dunno:

I dont think it will work without modifying the drive shafts. A friend swapped from a th350/205 to a sm465/205 and the drive lines bolted right up perfectly. Knowing that the th400 is longer than the th350, i don't think it will work out.

Which SM465/NP205 combo? It makes a big difference between 10 spline and 32 spline.

things are moving slow

Sorry guys I know its been a while things are moving pretty slowly due to wedding planning and life's other joys.

But things are getting back on track I ordered new clutch pedal springs for on classicparts.com I picked up new headlights from Napa and I may have found a set used tires locally that are near new for $600 waiting for the guy to call me back when he gets back to town.

That's about all for now hopefully will be back with pics soon.

MORE PARTS!! Classic parts A+++

Its not much but I did get some springs for my clutch pedal and linkage from classic parts and I have to say I am impressed with the quality parts they "feel" factory not like some cheap piece of China garbage and shipped pretty quick ordered on 2/9 and received them 2/12 so I'm happy

Got some new seating for the dually currently still working on the install

I've got the driver seat in the pass seat is about 1/2 way done and I moved the good bench to the rear

The seats are 2nd and 3rd row out of a Yukon so I'm pretty much reinventing the wheel with the brackets being the captains chairs are of the stow away fold up variety, the seat backs and bottom are mounted separately so there's quite a bit of staring and designing to make em work

I probably should have held out for front buckets I'm sure it would have been way simpler but I got a good deal on the seats and I don't mind a little fabrication and thinking, I like pushing my self in that aspect
