Revival of the "classic hauler"

Also waiting for my relays to show up from amazon to mod my power windows and headlights.

Here's some shots from pulling the bed, wanted to clean the frame up and paint it and I still need to re-work the brackets some po did for the gooseneck.
They welded angle to frame to bolt 5th wheel rails to then welded the gooseneck to the rails, it works but I don't like it. Looks like hell and their scabby welds bother me.

The wife wanted to give me a hand before she had to go back to Denver for the third round of chemo, it was so awesome for her to get involved!IMG_20160409_095357401.jpg

I put the wife on crane duty while I watched everything as we come up, almost couldn't believe it all the bolts backed right out didn't have any spin in the bed and didn't have to cut a one of em.

Very nice. :thumb: I did a LOT of torching when I rebuilt my step-side bed. Nearly nothing came out easily. :doah:

Got the bed off here and you can kind of see the brackets they welded to frame (bastards :flipoff1:) I got the 2 rear most brackets knocked off now, I really can't figure out why they were even there nothing was bolted to em.

Anybody know what the triangular bracket on the right side was for? There wasn't one on the driver side, I ended up removing it seeing as how it wasnt doing Jack.

are your rear spring plates cast iron? snap a pic if you can.

Jealous of your clean rear fenders. Mine are cracked and at $300 a pop for new ones, it will have to wait.

I have the same issue with the leak under the dash. Curious to what you find out. I found one leak from bad/cracked cab light gaskets but that leak is in the upper left corner inside at the A pillar seam. I'm wondering if it's leaking all the way down under the dash.

I actually found that the passenger fender was repaired at one time, it's not perfect but you gotta look pretty hard to find it. Seems like they did a decent job with the fiberglass, I will definitely post my findings on the leak when I find it
