Richard's Funky Fire Truck

I put 35x12.50x16.5" BFG's on 16.5'x6.75" wheels on mine, and it is still too deep geared. How did you drive that thing so far?

Martin

Yea, mine still haven't come in. Idk what's up with them. I haven't pressed the matter with the shop because I haven't lifted the truck yet. I do have a bunch of ord things on the way.

I know 35s will leave the rpms higher than I hoped, but the truck will be going to live in a land of hills and 50 mph roads.

cool rig Rich. i cut up my 1028 firetruck this past summer and kept the best part for my stepside. i had planned on doing just what you are doing but took a job in NYC which requires me to spend most my time there.

cool your up near abram. my buddys family has a place near there and work at the MT. last name is Ryan. They are near the firestation.

for a plow/work truck keep the TH400. just makes things easier.

might send you a PM soon about the M1009.

oh and how did you guys do at the ENH run last spring.

Ian

I know right where the fire station is.

The enh run got interesting. We didn't fit down the trail they had picked with the fullsizes. I got stopped at the entrance. I had to drive up a boulder on the pass side to get in and a tree on the driver side ended up in line with my windshield. Those guys with the little jeeps took off and we met up with an east group that didn't really want to go wheeling.

Yeah there runs carry alot. But as you mentioned most up here wheel Heeps or Toys. It is a whole mess of fun trying to keep up with TJ's in a wide leaf sprung rig. . . They did run a Fullsize only run with them a few years back. Was a Dodge on 35's a k5 on 37's a H2 on 40's and us.

We ran the troy area but more on the power lines.

Yeah next time I visit my buddy I will have to see if your up there.

Have you wheeled allwheels park in ME yet?

I haven't been very diligent at updating, but what else is new.

Parts came in from ORD. I've got the DIY4X flip going on tonight.

Also, If you have a 1 ton truck and you haven't flipped the u-bolts...

yeah! WTF Is that all about!!!

My duramax is built like that too!? :doah: What a stupid idea!

The newer GM trucks are the same way. Very common for them to rust through like that around here.

My tires are back on the ground.

I moved my DIY shackle forward 1 7/8 inches. This helped the angle and allowed the reuse of the forward bottom hole.

The ord u-bolts are just long enough/the perfect length for this spring pack. I have only a few threads sticking up.

I think I netted closer to 5-6 inches of lift with the flip and 6 inch cross tied shackles.

Back on its own weight. I obviously have to add the rear of the bed still so she may settle some.

I cut those mounts off yesterday. PM me your address so I can drop them in the mail.

Martin

Hey, I got those mounts in the mail yesterday. The intention was to get them sent off on Friday, but I ended up playing volunteer fireman, and didn't make it to the post office.

Martin

Anyone know what corner lights may have been in my fenders? I'd like to replace them and not have gaping holes.
