Roll cage kits Updated: last install video uploaded

Cage kit, through the dash or in front of dash.

I was thinking the exact same thing! My old S&W was right around $450 but I was less than pleased with how it fit in the truck. Couldn't wait to exo the cab so I could chop out the front half of the S&W cage, so tired of hitting my hand on the A-pillar bar while quickly turning the steering wheel. You have out done yourself this time Kert. These are gonna sell quick, especially when K5 cages are available!

I have alot of video of the installation process but it needs some editing. You guys gotta cut me some slack though, a videographer I am not!:whistle:
 
Will have the last of the cage pics tonight. And the last of the install video for editing.
 
So, to be clear, this is for a pick up cab only, right? Not an internal cab for a K5? I wonder if your K5 version could be modular so that someone could choose to do just an in-cab cage, or a full cage. There'd be two benefits there: 1) I don't think I want a cage for the rear, beyond a roll bar with diagonals that go down to the wheel wells for weight purposes, and to maintain full multi-purpose usage of the bed. And 2) one could do the cage in stages - don't have the money for the whole thing, so you start with the in cab component and add the rear component later.

Yep, this one is pickup cab only. The B pillar hoop I intend to do a bit differently for the blazer. Since this cage kit is installed from the B pillar forward, everything else will change slightly as well.

For the K5 we'll do the infront of the dash version first and that'd be just the cab. Then we'll double back and do the through the dash version. After that we'll do the "add on" cargo area cage.

So, You will certainly be able to do it in stages or skip the cargo area altogether.
 
We did get the last of the install video shot today and I got a bunch of stills for references and that sort of thing. I'm gona post the pics in the morning. Been at it since 8a.m. Dead tired and i'm out!

really looking forward to the through the dash k5 kit with the cargo area add on! i think itll be a perfect time to buy and install both the cage and your dash together once its all released. keep up the awesome work kurt!

any update on the install video? I'm hoping I can fully weld the halo to A pillars with my glass in tact. It looks like the dash is minimally affected.

Having problems with the install video. Some of the footage, when put into a "segment" has playback issues. Not sure what I can do about it right now. We're looking at some better video editing software.

That being said, I'd have to say, attempting to do the A pillar to halo welds without the windshield being removed would be incredibly difficult. I'm not going to say impossible. There are some things that could be done to help with it outside of what the video will show.
 
The first two kits were sold within a day or two of posting them up on the website.
 
I don't suppose the " in front of dash" kit would be any different in regards to the windshield issue?
What is the build time if I order a kit from the website?

I don't think it will be different enough to matter. Only thing that would change the difficulty in welding that spot would be to make the fit to the cab not so good.

Actually, currently they are set to "Call to Order." Specifically for the purpose of discussing lead times. Right now, for the cage, i'd estimate 1-2 weeks to ship.
