yea sucks but everyone is ok. Thanks to DIY4X the cage basically saved my life. Rolled onto the roof out at KOH out on the lake bed. Not really being stupid, but basically a donut with low tire pressure and soft mud under a crust top meant I was going over.

Feel free to reprimand me as necessary, I deserve it but this sucks. I will be replacing the door and quarter but not sure what to do about the roof. Smash on it with a dead blow or what?

Any constructive or destructive advice is welcome.

Pics? Hard to have a plan of attack without know what it looks like.

Damn donuts will get ya every time....
Glad everyones ok.

Dang, glad you are okay.

Do something cool for your youtube chanel like grafting a good roof/cab onto your existing one or as mentioned do a full vert conversion.

Are you going to replace stressed/damaged parts of the cage?

not sure yet. If I end up cutting the roof out and replacing I will replace some of the tubes but not sure at this point. Hoping you guys will tell me I can just fix it really easy. So bummed right now.

I bet you are bummed, I would be too. Give it some time, get some good advice and make a plan of attack.

We had a few trucks at the junkyard we used for torch trucks that had been rolled,we pulled the roof back up with the loader and a chain after welding some tabs to the roof...also used a come-a-long in the same manner hooked to a thick tree branch to get the roof on another truck back to somewhat normal,so we could get in it and drive it..

Too bad your truck rolled, but be glad your OK--could have been much worse!..

I remember a wrecker call I went on with a friend who drove a ramp truck some years ago--,a lifted 70's square body Chevy went off the road and barrel rolled several times..

The roof was pushed down past the dash, and the driver was still trapped in it when we arrived, they were just firing up the jaws of life to cut him out--he too was very lucky, had a broken arm and leg and a crushed foot, but he should have been killed, judging by the way the truck looked..he said a rear tire blew out and the truck swerved to the right so fast he didn't have time to react..

I think full 'vert would be the simplest fix...maybe grafting the top off an otherwise scraped tub...?

Damn! didn't realize it was you Merrick! Didn't have the kids with you I hope!

Glad you (everyone) is ok. Looking forward to day time pics, that camo pattern makes it tough to see the side damage.

How fast were you moving?

Was the soft top on during the rollover?

Any noticeable damage / denying / racking of the cage?

Another vote for replace the roof area. not terribly hard IMO, could probably knock that out on a Saturday...

Ouch that sucks James! You might want to make sure that the frame is good and straight before you go to far with the repair, that truck is heavy and could have bent it when it went over and it might be hard to tell unless you take some measurements. Do you still have to deal with smog? Now might be a good time to do what I did with my old blazer and go find a old military diesel one and swap all your stuff into it, thats worst case scenario though!

Rollover tested, Merrick approved.

Damn that sucks, at least the cage did what it was designed to do.

Full vert treatment is an easy option, but you'll need the full vert soft top to match obviously. Look at @dremu 's build thread as he took a half cab and put it on his full vert body. Probably the one and only on here that went that way, but he has clear photos and documentation of the work needed to install the half cab roof. Very solid work from him. With what you have done so far it's within your skill set to do this.

Sorry for the wipeout.
