Katugly, I'm sending you a PM.
OK, I thought I had the 88 running. It still had issues on startup but other than that it was running good. My wife tried driving it yesterday and it was running like crap again. So I tried it today and sure enough, somethings wrong.
Hot or cold its the same. THe truck wont idle more than a minute before it dies. And not like a sputtering die, like kill-the-switch died. When driving, if the engine rpms go below 1500rpm's, the SES light will turn off, but there is no power. And it only does this during engine braking or long stretches of low idle in gear. Otherwise the SES light is on and the engine runs at or above 2k rpm's.
I pulled the codes:
22 - Low voltage at throttle position sensor
24 - Speed sensor circuit fault (I knew this one because the auto trans was swapped for a manual)
44 - O2 sensor lean.
This truck is giving me fits! Everytime I figure out one problem, two more show up. I've already checked vacuum lines and electrical conections, so now I'm down to checking individual wires and bolts. Last week I found two headers bolts missing and all the others on that side loose. I torqued these to spec when I installed them, then checked after a few months and a couple hundred miles. How would, after two years, they would all of a sudden come loose?
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, I'm just pissed! This rig has to get me 1000 miles to my next base inless than 3 weeks, and now it breaks!
