Rumble Bee. (Getting cannibalized for the greater good)

Burnout if I can lol.

I have to cut something because I want lower, not higher. The fronts are in pretty good shape. If i had different ones to put on I'd do it.... I just don't have any:dunno:
The cab I found a lot of fixing and Bondo so I won't mind much when cutting it comes around.

And that pic's kinda what I'm going for, but the draw feature on my phone sucks.

No burnout with old tires.... Didn't think of it before I did the rears. And didn't want to swap em all around just for that. The new ones definitely change my final ratio lol.... So I may not be able to even do one with these

It rubs lol... Knew it would.. I just took my wife and Monkey for their first ride in it. It rubbed just driving up into my alley. Wish she would have told me she was taking this pic lol

Front springs seem to be decent ones.... Multiple thin leaves instead of a few thick ones.
It'd be nice to know what size and brand they are.

Rears are just the opposite lol

Only advice I can give you Rick is think about the future. Make the flatbed as big as possible. Use it to protect the cab corners. If you do a hoop try to make it just slightly larger than the cab. I mean just slightly.

Fun stuff man fun stuff

I want to make a bed with a main hoop real close to the cab, and just slightly smaller actually. That way I can skin the sides with actual bed skins and maintain the square body look. And then I'll cut the back of the cab out and run my interior cage bars off of the main hoop. Tie the cab into the main hoop.

Cage the rear part and add a seat for more passengers. Then eventually make a snap on cover with Windows made of boat top material. So it'll sorta look a lot like a blazer but with more wheelbase.

First phase is main hoop and passenger hoop though. Then my mind will change six times from there lol

Started on a bumper. I took an 8' custom bumper off of a large flatbed work truck, and shortened it to about 6.5'. Then I beveled the ends (still have to weld in the fill panel).

I'm putting 6" oval taillights in the outer edge of the flat part, and 6" white ovals in the angled part for reverse lights.

It's welded directly to the rear edge of the frame and to the hitch. ... That's probably not the best method but will be fine for what this trucks purpose is.

I still have some bracing and stuff to do but it's on for the most part.. comes to just about the center of each rear tire on each side.

Oh.... And I told my buddy he could remove my Mud Slut sticker.... And he just modified it lol

It'll be tubed, but skinned with normal fenders so it won't look like a flatbed lol. Technically will be, but without the look. I just gotta hurry up and build my bender stand, and convert it to air over hydraulic.
I think I have the metal for it. I just have to measure it all and verify before I start cutting. :doah:

I'm working 12's 6 days a week right now, so time to do anything is almost non existent :doah:

Nice build so far!

If you don't mind me asking, is that a gooseneck plate on your frame? Have you put it to use, even with the short wheelbase? Sometimes my courage gets the best of me and makes me want to do something similar with my k10 swb...

I think that's what they did with it.... I've barely driven it so far and never towed with it.....

All that is, is a 6 or 8 inch piece of C channel welded to the frame with a hole in the middle lol.

Its getting cut off

I've been neglecting this truck a lot lately. I have been working non stop rotating 12 hr shifts with only a couple short turn arounds off, since mid October.

Then trying to sleep, spend time with the family, work on Mom's Jeep, and clean up our house... :doah::sleep:

I haven't driven it because when I drive it up to the shop I'm buying, (about 15 blocks), the pinion gets HOT and sits there smoking lol.
I parked in a level spot, blocked it, left it in neutral, and shook the pinion. It moves a total of about 3/16ths of an inch up and down :doah:
Plus the Ujoint is bad there too.

So a pinion rebuild, Ujoints, and a front/rear housing lube n reseal are next in line for it. My OT is over now so hopefully soon.

Oh, and I seen superwinch 9500 lb'ers are selling for 350 right now soooo...:whistle:

??:dunno:

What do you mean?

there is usually a crossmember where the motor mounts are.

Huh.... Never looked for it really. I'll have to do that lol.
Wouldn't by chance be able to recommend a rebuild kit for a 14b by chance would ya? Lol. That's my next line of attack....

This is what it's got.... Circled area is the close up with a crack :doah:
