Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

caught that just in time... it only had about a 1/2 qrt of oil left in it..

my biggest issue is trying to figure out where I might have a couple of those flanged bolts around.. they're here somewhere from my other 14, but damned if I remember where I put them... :haha:

I needed 1 or 2, and ordered a used set off of ebay.

How many do you need? I'll toss a few clean ones in an envelope and send them your way.

I wonder if the ones in my 70 are the same.. hate to pilfer like that... but it'd save me from having to rummage thru buckets of stuff... eh, I'll look around...

thanks, I'll look around first and see what I've got... :D

They look identical.

And really, i need 3 or 4 max, and i have a whole set. PM me your address and i'll drop them in the mail tonight.

I just bought that one, came friday... 14bFF with 4.88's and custom schtuff..

I guess I should buy a lottery ticket today, went to my coffee can for "flanged factory bolts" and had 3 sitting right on top... I mean, I didn't even have to dump the can out... :haha:

should have 6 Baja's by the weekend....

It still blows me away that you've driven this enough to wear out a set of tires.

Looks great as always!

well, they certainly aren't wiped.. they're about 30 to 40%.. but a couple are uneven from early alignment issues.. I'll probably sell the 4 decent ones..

it was just time to go 37... the stuff became available, and with the tubebed/layup/winter deal, it was the perfect time...

I feel like those gears will clean up ok and be usable. Maybe not perfect but I bet they will last another 100k miles.

already wirewheeled the rust, rinsed out, recovered and filled...

I certainly wasn't thrilled about it, but it is, what it is..

sorry bud! Had no idea there was any kinda rusting going on in there. I didn't think it sat in one place long enough for that to happen.

I certainly wouldn't be worried about it though. Considering you can cut a 1/4" off the radius of the gear without causing problems. Just so long as the clean up debris is cleaned out good.

no big, just caught me off guard... :D

whoever was in that axle last didn't tighten the bolts, there where 3 or 4 in addition to the missing 2 that where loose.. it definitely had been leaking for awhile, very little oil left.. plus the one rim was pretty loaded with crud/oil.... and I'm guessing, letting some moisture/water in with the missing bolts...

I'll get that in prime tomorrow.. I'd love to get it under the rig next weekend..

was happy to find out it was only $89 to ship my 6 tires... :eek1:

I'm just glad I figured out you were talking about an axle when you said you shaved your bottom and then your upper lip...:haha::haha::haha:

I would have been the last one to get into that housing. Wonder what would cause them to loosen up like that. Not something I'd be likely to forget to torque.

eh, sh*t happens.. no harm, no foul...

oh, was I right in my guess that those are calipers off a 3/4 chevy front? for when I need pads...
