Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

and my apologies to anyone I offended in the previous posts.... but if you're reading this, it really shouldn't have been offensive...

to those that can't be bothered to see what I have to offer to the square-body world, the previous sentiment applies... :flipoff7:

Dont applogize. The hatred fuels the fab fire IMO :D

Haters gonna hate and ain'ters gonna ain't . . .

Name that movie

The interview!

Ah Paul you make me laugh... who gives a crap if nobody likes your build! :haha::haha:

Epic as usual, but how is your back and what not? You seem to be giving her hell without a complaint!? :waytogo:

it has always just amused me, the member list that don't even look at this build.. for whatever reason...

anyway, enough of all that bs... thanks to the people checking out my junk...

but how is your back and what not?

and thanks for asking mang.. :waytogo: same ole.... no big thang when your used to it... biggest issue for me these days is I broke 2 fingers in a boat last week, and it's crazy busy "get em in the water" season... :doah: :haha:

They hate you cuz they ain't you.

I've been lurking for a while. Never felt like I had much to contribute.
Sure I could add to the sea of compliments but it gets lost like a rain drop In a hurricane.

If I want to chit-chat I'll shoot you a PM.

Nice work :waytogo:

anytime brudda, anytime.... :D

it doesn't matter, it's just more a curiosity to me than anything else... I notate who reads here, and who's names I've never seen at the bottom... and I just wonder why...... :dunno: heck, Martin reads the thread, and I don't really think this build is his particular cup o' tea.... and I appreciate that...

and to be honest, I certainly appreciate a compliment here and there, but what I really like in this thread is when something I'm doing sparks an interesting discussion/debate/idea gig...

like the taillights.... I thought it was awesome how everyone chimed in and we all kinda walked it thru to a conclusion that I'm exceptionally pleased with.... and I owe that to you guys from your input...

I can tell you first hand that it feels even more awesome to be able to help and bring ideas to the table or changes that could be made and then those suggestions be used. Now THAT is a good feeling. And to see the finished product come to life is even better. You've done a fantastic job on that tube bed Paul.

Paul I will tell you. I probably lurk on here more than anyone. And while I admire everything that you have done to mutt, I think the thing I admire the most is that you are unfraid to blow a vehicle apart and rebuild it to suit your needs. Guys like you, Teck, Adam just to name a few. The level of creativity, the knowledge to adapt parts from here, there and everywhere and make them work to the nth detail in your builds. Not having the experience that you do, I sometimes have a hard time getting over the hump of tearing something down and getting it to work again. You guys will laugh, but to certain extent I get intimidated. What if I screw something up. Guys like you remind me that these trucks are just mechanical things that can be fixed and modified fairly easily if you know what you're doing. For that I thank you. As for Mutt, it's beyond badass. Looking forward to its completion.

wow, thanks guys... :o

I can appreciate the intimidation, I was like that when I was younger when it came to certain things... sometimes safe and cautious IS the right approach..

tho I think my career has weened all that out of me for quite a few yr's now... :doah: :haha:

I like to think that I've acquired enough wisdom, or as I tend to think, minutia:haha:, that I can help everyone at least a little bit, now matter what their skill level...... :deal:

that's why it perplexes me when dozens of forum regulars refuse to even look at my stuff.... I don't care if they like it, or me, but maybe a tidbit or idea here and there becomes helpful to them...

it was another glorious day for Mutt.... pulled our tractor and a 36' Mainship out that where stuck in some loose gravel... and ran it down to one of our neighboring marina's for parts today... had to spend a 1/2 hr going over the rig with all their employees... :o :haha:

So when you gonna start the car show circuit. Mutt be working twice as hard already as half the trucks in the show-n-shine these days. You've already pulled more this week than I have with my dizzle in years.

So when you gonna start the car show circuit. .

it's funny you say that, I kinda thought about that yesterday.... my town has a couple car shows a year that, I believe, our fire department put's on... I'd say, about 100 to 150 cars are there.. it's in the town field right around the corner from my house...

in 20 yr's in this house, I've never gone, I'd drive right by, go to the LAB™, and weld for hr's... :haha:

I'm kinda jaded on car shows, I grew up going to the ones at Englishtown twice a yr.... I've seen some very cool, well-built stuff and gotten some cool ideas.. but I've also seen lot's of cr@p... as a body/resto guy, I can be tough to impress....

the guys that drove me nut's where the ones that would take a classic muscle car and drop some 10 g, chromed out motor in there, and not even clean the grime off the firewall... :dunno: :eek1: :( that's the kinda stuff that drives me nut's...

anyway.. I don't know, I'm hesitant cuz the rig is far from done in many aspects... I think I may go to the first one this year and park on the side street and walk around and actually look at some cars for the first time..

I did design this to actually be a working rig, but after all the attention it seems to be getting, maybe I should consider putting it in the line...

I see that you built this to your design and its, so far, (only because you're not done yet) working just as you wish. That's true craftsmanship in my book.

The part where it makes us all have wet dreams is just an obscene bonus.

Just a lurker checking in. I don't post much, but like what you have done and plan to do to mutt. You have put a lot of detail work in to this, and if it doesn't look/fit right, you aren't afraid to redo it. :waytogo:

Looking pretty damn cool! Once I eventually get back up to jersey be cool to check it out in person.

I would put it in the line, I have seen tons of just total crap in a car show before.

Yours is not, when the Blazer is done they should make a cool pair.

thanks guys.... :D

a dream to be hauling my done K5 on a tricked out gooseneck with a 6BT Mutt to Rausch Creek..

someday.... :deal:

more over the top responses to the rig today.... :o literally.. every person that see's it, has something to say...
