Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

Good to see some activity. Looking good, can't wait to see it "legally" road worthy. I feel for you guys that have to play the inspection game. If it had the taillights it could be a regular old farm rig here. You going to just screw the plate to the flat part of the bed or is having a plate holder part of the inspection? You could use some of those LED lighted plate bolts to meet the night time requirments.

How's the ticker feeling now that you are back to work, at the marina and the garage?

Once again gaining insparation thru your efforts. Deck almost done, finishing up the stereo on the boat by wensday and I am begining work on the 3500 to get it sold. Then its time for the K5, only a month behind so far (as long as I can stay at home for more than a week).

i actually made a bracket that bolts behind the heep/universal tailights that I got, and hangs down below the light cuz the light has a plate light at the bottom...

that's all temp till the real bed, but should keep the popo happy in the meantime...

and thanks for asking... I feel good... between work and the rig I'm bustin arse these days, but it feels good... the blood thinners are a bit of a nuisance, being I bleed for a living... hopefully in august he'll take me off some meds...

off to get the bed in black now....

Needs more chrome for that truely custom touch.:haha:

And whatever you do don't step in the popo you won't be able to get it off your shoe. It just follows you around a makes a big stink.

slather is to the brush/roller, what douche is to a spray gun... ;)

ends of the rails boxed for taillights...

tomorrow I'm gonna give the back rails a quick strip, prime and paint... thurs, I'll put the bed back on semi permanently...

also ordered what I hope will be a decent temp fuel fill for now... hehe, it's a filler neck from a 2000 Bravada.... :haha:

The only quick strip...prime and paint I know is a little pole dancing club / tattoo parlor out on route....errr...ummm....I mean....:eek1: whoops...

They still make that style tire? I thought they have been discontinued for a long time now.

Ugh! DROOL!!! Is it wrong that im getting a little chub right now thinking of 6 of those tires on that crew? Well i dont care cause thats whats happening!

oh, i just realized the google image was wrong...

Hence the confusion then. Just didnt want you to get them expecting the originals and then be pissed when they are the KM2's.
