Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

THat's funny. I was so busy looking at the blown 8100 (or std BBC converted to DIS) that I didn't even notice the duck until you mentioned it.

:haha:same here. I was wondering "what duck?" had to go back and look:haha:

me too.... :haha:

he needs some handpainted details, it totally makes mine :pimp:

all Mutt work is backburnered for a couple weeks, as I'm concentrating on getting some painting done in the Dungeon...

:haha:

sorry, my bad... not nearly as exciting.. the actual Dungeon, ceilings, walls, maybe the floor..... :o trying to get it ready for some winter work... tube bed, the K5, etc...

Had a sticker on the outside of the windshield of my dad's lotus for close to two years before taking it off (not ruined just got tired of it). No problems with the windshield wiper. Where it hit was actually just the cleanest/best looking part in the end!

good to know.... it's definitely backburnered for awhile.... maybe in the spring I'll give it another go...

Paris's suggestion.... :haha:

just picked up a 5 gal pail this morn... getting started this afternoon... buying 4 new light fixtures next week hopefully...

That's gonna feel so much better working in a clean shop. I did the same thing a couple of weeks ago. Pulled out the workbench to find a 6" mat of grinding dust, some sockets and a couple of beer bottles. :haha:

it's amazing what 15 yrs of welding soot will do to a ceiling... :haha:

freakin 3 coats on the ceiling... :doah:

hopefully tomorrow I can pretty much finish up the majority of the walls and ceiling....

I'm gonna do the floor too in a few weeks... it just looks sooooo sh*tty.... guess I'll start shopping around for some reasonably decent floor paint.... I really don't want to break the bank tho.. probably the cheapest gray catalyzed epoxy gig I can find..

nope, I rent... the joys of a bad marriage... :doah: :haha:

I get a pretty smokin deal tho...

the joys of a bad marriage.

I thought they all were.

No, scratch that, my dad did okay the second time around, 30+ years and still strong ... but both of mine were bad, so I'm still pretty cynical :haha:

it wasn't the dozen's of broken bones and eleventy thousand stitches I got from vert skating that proves I'm a masochist, it was being married to her.... :doah: :haha:

yup, props for that recommendation, I love them! it's such a better light...

i thought i saw a display the other day at home depot as i walked by the lighting section where they had the daylight bulbs and some new one, and the daylights still where the brightest, cleanest light.. forget what the others where called...

normally i do depot, but i read reviews on these fixtures at lowes and they sound good. they have a few in this style around that price, but these sounded good with the commercial ballasts... gonna do 4's this time as opposed to 8's...

Thanks to the govment the 8' will be outlawed shortly. They are already after the t8 lamps next.

Paul good fixtures but they are made to be mounted in a drop grid ceiling. But you can just screw, toggle them to the drywall. Make sure you get the t8 style lamps and stay in the 5000k- 6500k region of light color and make sure you spend a little extra for good quality lamps, i.e. Sylvania.

Normally I would steer you to t5 fixtures but I think your lid in the dungeon is to low and you would get hotspots.

On the good side if the do outlaw fluorescent lamps most lamp makers already have LEDs in line to go right in place and they are brighter. And last 10 x longer.

good info, thanks....

i planned to just screw them up thru into the studs...
