Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

What about Cold Galvanize spray paint? That has some zinc in it.

we use it here and there at the marina for different things.... it seems to more about "rust prevention", as opposed to etching... I think it would be ok to do parts with, but I wouldn't use it on a sheetmetal app...

I hope I never have to do that again... ;)

holy crap! I bet that was nerve-wracking as hell doing all of that.

Adventures in engineing.

it was much more difficult than I expected.... thankfully I had the column in the LAB™ to anchor to.. but it was definitely a pain, the damn stand kept lifting off the ground... I actually got it to roll most of the time by making the chains sooper tight, than jumping on the raised end of the stand... it could be corrected by redoing the mount plates, but I don't plan on doing it again in my lifetime.. :doah: :haha:

I don't like it. You should have painted it Ryoken orange.

let's see if I can change your mind once it's installed in Mutt.. ;)

jeez dude, be careful, last thing you want is that big pig on your leg or something...

I wasn't so much worried about that, moreso about a chain snapping and decapitating me... but i stayed out of the line of fire as best I could and got r' dun.... ;)

KDP is done... I just ordered a tab off eghey for $9... wasn't worth my time to make one for that......

May have to order one of those myself for when I get around to doing my swap. $9 is cheap enough!

Thanks for the link that is fantastic! Looking forward to see how your swap goes so I can steal some more ideas :haha:

it was more just to show the tan.... but yeah, between the fluidamper, front cover and $1000 x-member mount, it's a bit $$$$$$ ;)

i do like the AC mount, but I have no idea what direction I'm headed with all that yet....

That is a sharp looking color combination on the engine; tan, black, and Chrome. I'm would not be described as one who likes chrome, but I do like the look of the polished valve covers and think they will look good, both contrasting and complementing, the RR in the engine bay.
