Ryoken's 96 Furd twofiddy

05-up Superduty axle swap , rear is bolt in . Sky off-road makes a kit for the front. Makes a huge difference in ride quality.

Or you could just swap a 60 in from the same era F350 along with the F350 springs for a slightly better ride.

so......... hypothetically... if I got some 4" leaves all around for this rig, what would be the solid axle 60 I should be looking for to replace the TTB? stock driveshaft work? or at least lengthen the existing one...

I'm gonna run the black bed box from the dudge in it when I get it home next week.... it's one of the ones that sits on top of the rails, with like a 5" reveal... first biz will be ditching the cap and plastic bed liner out of it....

I think in '92 they went to the ball joint 60 which would be basically direct bolt in. Might need a little fab for the track bar. The older kingpin 60 would also work I think but might be harder to find and not as perfect of a match. So like '92-97 F350 Dana 60. I'd do a shackle reversal up front which they come in different lift height versions. You can do super duty springs out back which are said to ride better and if you found the right gvwr ones they would probably get you close to 4" lift out back. Super duties also ran a factory 2" block on some and 4" block on others. Another option is a full super duty suspension and axle swap. Leaf spring or coil spring versions. I think @obijuank5 knows about them.

yeah, I don't know if the best would be a mid 80's KP one, 92-97, or some 04+ super duty one... clueless...

just debating giving it a bit more stance at some point with 33's or 35's... I figure with that mill, I might have it for a while.. :haha: it needs front tires bad.. that TTB must eat em up.....

guess I'll have to find some Furd forums to trol, ummmm, learn Furd stuff... ;)

hmmm, why did my brain miss this... my bad.... thanks...

05 to like 12 are easy to use. If you get a donor superduty, you dont neeeeed any of those aftermarket brackets. They really make it nice though. It almost bolts on like they meant it for OEM buckets and brackets.
I've done one and we did a ruffstuff tapered insert on the pitman arm and that was the only custom part on the front side. Then we just made a fixture for the brake cables. Simple but laborious.

do i control ride height by the different spring rates? meaning 5200's sit higher than 4800.... haven't played with coils since my Chevelle days...

Yes basically. I'd say gas 250 coils work well for Cummins swapped obs trucks. Dont know which number they are or what to do with 7.3s lol

Let me ask the obvious here.

Is this another project or just a DD? Don’t invest too much in this one while you have the CC and K5 needing massive work still.

trust me, it won't be getting a ton of coin, time. just trying to figure out what to keep an eye out for and potential swap stuff down the road...

Turd in da house.....

one thing it has that rotted off the ds that i may actually fab a bracket/put back on are, the matching Lund running boards to the visor.... (it's laying behind his shed ;) )

i actually kinda like these... now, when/if I lift it 4" with 35"s, prolly come off at that point.. but i kinda dig em at stock height.....

gonna keep it off the road a few wks or so.. dreading trying to get title/tags right now.... DMV is a campground apparently since reopening....

a bit at the top of the back wheel wells, and the tailgate is pretty hammered, other than that, peeling clear on roof/hood.....

ive had plenty of these trucks and like them, but pay close attention to the core support mounts. The core supports are pop can material thickness and always rust then the fenders sag and get into the front of the doors.

but that’s a good looking truck! I’m a Chevy guy at heart but like the 92-97 fords
